55/72 total rain ½ inch
Finished making labels for prairie seeds Kensel gave me. Have planted 24 kinds now along lower driveway. Planted snow ball bush down by waterway – pulled garlic mustard, planted 2 lbs of Scott’s shade grass seed – filling in places where flood washed out grass. Too wet to mow.
Magnolias still gorgeous
Spring beauties a white carpet. Dutchmans Breeches spreading – spring cress in clumps – bloodroot about gone.

Mary brought June & George Ulle out for bfst – Belgian Waffles with sausage. Took walk thru woods on this side – too coll for spring beauties to be open – and windy. Then across river (via road) to show them boundaries. George helped me dig about 10 small pawpaws & then plant them across the road. Told them to come back in Sept in 5 years for the first crop.
Howard’s income tax report arrive about 1:30 – no comment – nbithing. Just the way I sent it with questions on Feb 19! – Finished copies & to BancOhio in Caledonia to ask what had to be included (their bank statement no) He was incensed at treatment I’d received.
To Kass’ at 6:30 for the Hemmerly Dinner Party – David didn’t make it. Tied up in Cinci – Talked mostly to Ed Evanoski on Pawpaws, Hemmerly’s beginnings, etc. 32 there.
Didn’t make it to the meeting of Rosalie Adams, Dick West & Mary Ann to plan Reg II program.

Spent most of day getting packets ready for Hazard, Andres & Robt Stout on what occurred Tues. Also sent Bob my revisions on will.
Howard’s income tax report still not here – Kathy Fair called saying it was returned ‘undeliverable’ – I don’t believe her – she forgot to mail it.

Met Mary & June & Geo Ulle at ‘Peppers on the Border’ for chimichangas. Once a week is too often.
Up to Mary’s afterward for a visit. Their 17-year-old grandaughter Heidi is living with them. They cam to go to Rachel Callahan’s 50th wedding anniversary party on Sat. at Ottawa.

Call from Steve Jenkins telling me to hang in there – things are looking up. Then he put Eula on the phone – She had picked up papers from JDT from her HH box – He is now suggesting a ‘lobby reading room – and a library in the swing room with door through N. wall to archives area’. -Now where did he ever come up with an idea like that! She also read a communication from GKB buthang [sic] his long range plan (10-20 yrs) for MCHS & WPM – Also his thought on my 11 concerns that bear out mine. I couldn’t believe my ears! Eula asked how I felt & I said ‘vindicated.’ I feel like a great weight has lifted off me.
Arwood Ginn & Betty Richards made a visitation from Trinity – again providential. It gave me an opportunity to tell them the story of the Episcopalian ‘Harding Altar.’ Read Jack Warwicks ‘Growing up with Warren G. Harding’
Called Mary to come out with a pizza so I could share the above with her.

Fearing frost tonight so did a 45 minute video of Terradise featuring the Star & Saucer Magnolia in full bloom. And forsythia and daffodils.

59/75 partly sunny – rain evening
Cleaned off the bed in computer room & got things filed.
In at 1:00 for perm at Styling Salon – $38.50 – In Nov it was $28 – in Jan $35.
To OSUM at 3:30 to meet with Dedan Hazard, John Andres (OSUM trust attorney), Bob Stout & Pweg Hendricks. Now Hazard is saying that cannot match endowment funds Howard might give except with ‘in kind’ contribution of staff time, etc. Bob says that is acceptable. I offered to continue maintenance as long as I’m living here. Andres said the reversion clause might be a problem, I agreed to reduce it to 50 years. John will work on it a bring it back – He jumped at the chance to come out & see Terradise, but it was a quick look as a storm broke just as we got here. I sent him on his way & headed back to Marion in a downpour to meet Mary for supper at Bob Evans.
