Mary H & Mary J picked me up about 9:00 & we headed to Sandyville via 309 & 250 – stopped at Stark Wilderness Center – Impressive! Big – well organized – Kids groups all over place – Beldon Visitor Center full of exhibits. No wholesale candy available at Campbells – but we call bought a couple of pounds.
Scenery gorgeous. Shopped at Walnut Creek. Tiny Tender popcorn. Baby Swiss cheese- jam, etc. Then through New Bedford to Dan Yoder’s to check on states of Huber B Model. All seemed tickled to see me & showed us prototype. Also saw his Himalayan cats. A cross between leopard & cat?? – Also raising parakeets & cockatiels. Left some candy for kids. Dan wants order for 100 Model B’s.
Got home too tired to go to Marion Garden Club.

MCHS 6 hrs Newsletter
Last minute changes on Newsletter & ran labels & took it to Boy Scout office. They ran 500 copies in 30 minutes. To Palace to see Travel Film on Poland. Met Mary at Cottrell’s to put labels on & then to P.O. to mail them.
Mary & I had supper together. Then to Huber Board Meeting at HH
Brent Harriman there with offer to purchase Lincoln Mercury property from Yeager’s for $50,000. More discussion on removal of tanks but finally moved to present purchase order. I asked all to write their pledge & give to Dr. Mauk unsigned to give him idea of how much support there was.
(Called me Tues) – 13 out of 15 pledged $13,000 – My pledge was $5,000 over 3 years.

MCHS Board 3 hrs
Carl Jordan’s funeral at Boyds – Herschel Roper, Dr. Ginn both captured the spirit of Carl’s quiet life. He had memorized all of Chapter 11 – Hebrews – on faith.
Buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery out near where Gladys & Neva live & where Mary grew up.
Back to church for dinner served by a circle – Tlked to Barbara (Jordan) & Ed Granger – among others.

Back in for Board meeting at 7:00 – Only about 15 there. Jack still ramming ‘The Harding Altar’ down our throats. I protested.
(Judge Myers against it, too)
