Sorted out more pictures for 40 years history & the rededication of Prospect 1913 bridge in 1984.
Proofed the history & printed copy for Jamie Steven even tho I had emailed it to him – 8 pages – I’m sure he will have to edit it-

Mailed letter to Reassurance Life Ins. requesting $10,000 toward 2009 Prius.
Took me 15 minutes to unload all the recyclables that Tom Beckwe loaded for me.
TO Marion Styar and met Jamie Steven – seems happy to have my articles – several people I met all day said they enjoyed articles in yesterday’s Star.

1° 7:30 – 34 9 PM Sunny
At computer from 9 until 5:”30 when David arrived. Reduced the MCHS First 10 Yedars from 1st version of 8 pgs to 3 for Jamie Steven at the Star. David was able to scan p[ix to send for introduction of Charlton Myers – and one for rest of MCHS history.
He cleaned up my desktop (On the computer – the real desktop is hopeless) by removing unused icons – showed me enough of Excel that I can enter data for Income tax and sum with S symbol. Contacted gale & she will meet us tomorrow for David to help with MCHS website.
He wanted Dugout Pizza for supper. Large pepperoni was $10.25! – Only ice cream I had was chocolate mint – only kind he won’t eat!

Fed the birds & ate breakfast.
By 9:00 I was at computer transcribing notes from Vol 1 of MCHS minutes 1969-1978 – Refilled bird feeders about 3:00 & Dave Matyak stopped about 5:00 with salt to take care of ice on side porch. He installed a 100-watt bulb in office & now I have good light.
TV dinner & bread & peach marmalade for supper – This Old House TV ugliest timber from house I ever saw.

What I have now is not suitable for the Marion Star but I’ll use it to condense the material for the Star.

Josh invents Ice Shark!
Kathi & Dave Decker back to Henderson by 5:30 last night. 7 inches of snow in Cinci.
Started 2nd installment of MCHS history using the official notebook of 1969-1978 on loan from Resource Center.
Email from Jamie Steven asking for more with pictures.
Time out to spend with Dave Matyak – He determined that the door bell chime in my bedroom is wired & it still works from door bell on front porch. The one I purchased yesterday at Meir did not have the very small batteries that were supplied. It was the only one with two push buttons & had been returned to stock – So I’ll return it. And by buying a very small (???) battery the one I have will work – Don’t need one with 2 push buttons! – Gave Dave the Bouvardia plant in bloom that I’ve enjoyed for a month & still blooming.
THen got into the boxes of MCHS pictures looking for ones before 1982 when we acquired the 225 S. Main St houser – found some of Marion County Fair activities & some Sesqui-centennial.
TV & crossword puzzle in Star until 8 & then back to writing 2nd installment of MCHS history.

What a day! No house phone working so called Jim Carpenter on cell phone & he came out about 12:00 to jump-start Prius. Did it but it would stay running so had to call Gators AAA. We had loaded the recyclables in the Prius & had to unload them,. Drove to Back Ohio & chased check for running expenses & gave Jim $40 – He didn’t want to take it – Told Corey in Service Dept that the Prius had no problems until last year (or 6 mo?) – no new 12 volt battery available so I have the Corolla loaner until David can come up & talk to them about a trade.
Stopped at Meijer for new door bell chime box – old one don’t ring! $20 – Cynthia (David’s 1959 classmate) helped me & wanted to know why David didn’t come to 40th reunion – gave her his email address. New broom $12 (Carroll broke old one knocking icicles off eaves over deck & salvaged it for wall papering).
Mail was delivered today – Paid Roush’s Heating & Cooling $368 – Dues to Marion Union Station & Friends of Prairie Parks- water bill 2 mo $58 & phone & email $100.
Email from Hugh Morgan with compliments. Forwarded to David with an acct of today. Left over lasagne, broccoli & fresh pineapple for late supper.

Sunny – 6 more weeks of winter
Got into sorting piles of paper in office – found a list of first members in 1969 – Through Oct.
Didn’t make much progress on completing notebooks for Velinda Mackay & Doug Ebert – new trustees.
Gale cam for supper of leftovers from last night- She OK’d the preliminary plan for 40th anniversary.
Talked about all the reorganization of newspaper collection to under the loading dock – has filled 3 of the 6 racks that roll – sure will be harder to use for research – Has moved the file cabinets of Marion plats out of old archives room & they will be against wall with newspaper racks in front of them.
Was showing her the upside down huge icicles that Carroll knocked into the snow on the deck – when she spotted deer crossing the river – They stopped on bank & look our way – eventually saw nine.
