Spent all day creating packets for the 10 surviving founding members of MCHS – Include their certificates of honor, my letter to each, ad copy of program,. The sheet of answers and the news release I wrote for the Marion Star – sent to James Stevens.
Emptied one of the rolling files I stashed all the papers I’ll use to create trustees notebooks. Will get back to them after I gert my income tax info ready for Diane Mault.
Gale here for supper – cooked the diced ham & potatoe in white sauce like Janise Seckle Parthemore brought to me.
She had worked all day with cleaning crew at Heritage Hall including Valenda who told Gale of my call apologizing for doubting her sales figures on ‘Schools’, books & DVDs – Valenda said she had erred in not including the checks!
Called Carol Robinson & left a message. Had a call from robin Cook while gale was here. Could hear her easily, so David’s changing the phones helped.

David opened his email first time since Thurs & had 54 messages from clients. I had 5 – answered Kathi’s & Dave Matyak’s – gave him dimension of Willis Marion Co. Map of Schools – 25×36 – He will protect it.
TO Marion for new phone jack & then to HH to pick up DVDs of 1976 Marion – Found one of Willis’s books at podium – must apologize Valinda who insisted we only sold 4 – & I said inventory showed we sold five.
To Epworth Church for Memorial Service for Julian Walker. Met new Farison/Snyder partner Chad Snyder – knows Haldeman’s in Morrow County – Service so moving – Jay’s sons sang (Eric) and played trumpet (James). Jay read a tribute to the joy his dad brought. Ended with a photo collage (Tom Yanitell?). David brought me home (reminded me he was Jay’s best man – Cornell NY) – & then he went back to Julian’s house for mingling.
Called Valinda – Had to leave my apology on answering machine.

David arrived about 12:30 AM after playing at Cactus Pear – He contacted Marion Bank & set up online banking. He contacted Reassure America & found the $10,000 check was in envelope ready to be mailed. Switched phones so base phone not near computer – filled sunflower seed bucket & fed birds.
To HH at 10:30 – Racks still there & tables with typewriters – Gale, Valinda & David got them all moved to under loading dock area. David set up the DVD projector & testing running ‘Marion 1976’ – TO Wendy’s to eat & to get extension cords.
I put 30 Road bonds in plastic sleeves. Dan Erickson came from Wooster to play electric guitar with David on trombone. – 40’s music. David tuned piano but not used. Set up 50 chairs but eventually 25 more & all filled – John Knickle came from Findlay – Charlie Evers, Telfer, Lucy Wood, Ruth Fabian, Virginia Cheney – had certificates for Founding Members & Acknowledged past presidents. Good reminiscences – lots of laughter – Willis Thomas on his book on Schools – Gave MCHS large maps with their locations.

Accomplished all I needed to do to be ready for tomorrow’s celebration of 40 years of ‘doing history’ – Since Gale’s file for certificate did not transfer to my computer – called her & sent list of founding members by email.
Finalized program – and my part in it. Wrote outline of my remarks.
Called Richard Bryson. & Eula Rhoads – past presidents – Called Carol Robinson & Virginia Howard to greet & make badges & see that guest book is singed. Called Valinda Mackay to sell ‘Schools’ & ‘Day Before Yesterday’ & DVD of ‘Marion 19786’ & answers to quix. Made donation box.
Transferred 2008 Notebook to an old notebook & started the 2009 one.
Sent email to Jamie Steven who worked on printing my 3 installments of MCHS history – Tonight the last on fills a page with photos of log cabin.

Call from Ohio State Bank on how to access my online banking. Call from Tom Beckel at McDaniel – has garage door opener left with 2005 Prius & paper to sign – call from Dick Burtch – sign paper to get me $340 deposit on lot next 229 E Fairground – returned/
Deposited check at Ohio State Bank – to HH. Gale gave me badges for 40th Anniversary people & made a template for certificate honoring Founding Charter Members. Got ok to ask for donation to get the answers to quiz.

Up at 7:30 – Bfst – fed birds – From 8:30 until 2:00 sorting papers to complete notebooks for Velinda Mackay & Doug Ebert new MCHS Board Members. Cancelled hair cut at 1:30 to have more time – picked up exotic flower arrangement at Tri-Rivers – to HH to Resource Center – called about 10 of Founding Members (to Dec 31, 1969) & every one delighted to hear from me & will come Fri- Sent letters to 5 more after mailing visited Madge Guthrey at Marion manor & left her letter with her – smiled a talked a little. Back to HH & reformatted the Charter Member list (to 12/31/1969 – 250 joined).
Gave incomplete notebooks to Valinda & partial one to Doug Ebert – her first meeting.

TO Tri-Rivers again – Forgot it is a ‘Holiday’ – But not for Gale – she has media center empty & is washing shelving – got boxes of bonds down for me & I sorted out 50 road bonds – too big for 8 x 11 sleeves – she ordered larger ones. Gerry printed out 30 letters to founding membners & gave me envelopes – Found 2 notebooks of Hallmarks but not complete.

Trying to compile MCHS notesboos for Valinda Mackey & Doug Ebert – frustrating.
David emailed the 40th program formatted on 8 ½ x 11 – corrections back to him.
Fri Death of Punch Walker (Julian) on front page of Star – He didn’t stop on 529 at 98 – called David & he cancelled trio at 40th out of respect for Jay who was to play drums.
Star featured my MCHS history ½ page with color pix of Courthouse Historic Marker.
Worked on my remarks for 40th. Emailed to David for instructions on creating a generic label for COunty Bonds we will be giving as souvenirs.
Compiled a list of still living founders/Charter Members from original list of 70+

56th wedding anniversary
Snowing when I got up at 9 – Oddly the driveway was snow covered toward the walk – then in a straight line clear to the grass – took pix!
Compiled program for 40th – Tried to email to dDavid – no connection.
Edited Collection Management Policy to give Director control no Cmag + committee [sic?]
Scrambled eggs, toast, bacon & cider for supper.
