Kass Mattimore woke me with the news that she would be receiving a letter from Norma Ekleberry resigning effective November 22nd and asking for her weeks vacation pay that she was eligible for by that date. Rumor she is going to work in Westerville but when I went in about 3:00 she declined to say where she was going and Kass had only received her letter at 2:00!

Raining for the 11:00 a.m. funeral. Dorothy’s family from Goshen back for the funeral. They were somewhat ignored. Mary and Kenny at funeral home when we arrived. Bridgetown cemetery on steep hill no trees.
We went to house after but was not room for 14 to eat so Mary, Ken and I went to White Castle for hamburgers and then headed home in the rain. Managed to keep together all the way.

Rained all all the way. Left for Cincinnati about 8:30 got to David and Karen’s just before they left to go to Harvey’s. Linda and Pat there from Alameda, California and Eric and Cathy from Reynoldsburg. A friend had brought a cold meat tray and we lunched on that with wine. All to funeral home about 1:00 and viewed Dorothy. Except for swollen neck she looked lovely. Josh asked to put a note in her hand. It said “I didn’t want you to die. I really likee you but even if you are dead you are still in my heart.”
We all dined on my spaghetti and pie. When we got back to David and Karen’s, David gave me Garrison Keillor book “Lake Woebegone Days” for my birthday.
