MCHS 2 hrs
Mark & John Richardson laid up stone wall along one side of new steps before Matt pulled them off job to go to Mansfield to plant Dubbles new restaurant.
Royce clean – Even got front porch washed off some. Think I’ll get carpet for the porch floor.
Mary out with pictures she took of landscaping – Mostly finished beds. Mine show before & after.
Printed out report showing location of brick – alphabet & numerical.
Set out intermediate iris that Clutters gave me in July. Dried up- hope some grow
Watered all the new plantings.

MCHS 3 hrs +1 = 4
Finished steps & got timbers in for rest of brick walk.
Matt & Rich working on timber steps. I suggested the landing be brick to tie together the change from brick to timber. When Matt came by he agreed. Planted creeping babys’ breath & the rest of the rescued impatiens. Watered everything. Suggested to Matt that he use 2×4’s that were along original walks to make railing for new steps. He agreed.
Worked on reports of Brick Purchases. Entered location in data base. Filled out form for Natural Landmark Status.
Picked Helen Kaufman up at 6:15. To Charlton Myers barn party- been doing this since 1971 – but I’ve only been invited for about the last 10 years. Barn in A-1 shape & full of antiques including 247 chairs. Talked to Larry Adams about Dave’s infor on HUD houses. He says they are available – contact his congressman’s office. Also said he would contact Marie English soon about her estate – setting up a museum in Charles Baker house.
Just as we started to sing Dick West said he had a call & we needed to go to HH. Need 3 more rows of bricks (15) to finish Panel B. So I left party party (Fogt’s to take Helen home) & sorted out another 15 – used up all available.

Frustration with computer. Called David – He said get a Y connector so I can use portable phone & modem from computer station. Mary here when I called him so she went home & got the connection I needed & brought it back. Great to have a sister like her.

Then called David & with the modem he got me straightened out. Said “God speaking” – 11th Commandment – Do not use FoxCentral (There are bugs in it) So I have to learn the commands. They are not in my book on dBaseIII as it is geared to using menus.

Up at 7:30 to watch Ed Johnson’s Agri Business program on Channel 10 TV – that featured me! ¾ of tim,e was me talking – ? Dean Hazard – ? other shots. Not sure I got the points across.
Set out coral bells, Indian Summer Sedeen & replaced impatiens among McCoy’s planting – Had to pull back mulch, split weed barrier & dig hole.
Mark & Richardson worked all day on timbered steps – got 7 steps in by using pick axe to excavate the hard clay.
37 yrs ago today Ray & I, Kathy & David moved in here.
Dave called – Looking into HUD’s program top sell houses for $1,600 – Has taken 4 weeks of classes on subjects from soldering to welding to materiel management.
Took film to K Mart, stopped at Hemmerly’s to cash check, left Exhibit story at Star, deposited $1,700 check from Boston Co Money Fund at Marion Bank. Picked Mary up, left off 2 chairs to be caned at Shaw’s. To Upper for supper & then to Fairhaven to visit Fanny Baker. She had gone to Forest. Grocery shopped, drove past Claridon Prairie – 35 species blooming.
