Too soon Dave left – To airport for 2:00 flight. Mary drove again. Had lunch (supper) at MLT cafeteria.
Kathi packing most of evening. Didn’t get many things done that I wanted to.

Big Day
Designation of Terradise as Ohio Natural Landmark – everybody was here! So great to haved support of family & friends. Haldemans stayed until 8:00 – We sang Christmas carols & loved each other.

Saturday, December 1, 1990
To Charlton Myers 80th birthday party at Country Club. Sit down dinner (prime rib) fior 80 guests. Party complete with balloons & cake with 80 candles – * compliments from family & friends – I recognized his arousing Marion to its history.
Picked Kathi up at Mary’s – Dave spent evening with Amy Lovell & her new husband.

Kathi stayed home in order to go to Caledonia when Olgua & Jan came in with Walt’s body.

Mary picked me up to go to Pt Columbs to get Dave. 4:00 plane only a little late. He looked so good to all of us.

Kathi & I had a hike in the woods- She enjoyed it – no mosquitos!

Picked up around the house. Mary picked me up to go to airport in the rain. Kathi’s airplane about an hour late. It was just leaving Chicago as we got to airport. Got a bite to eat in cafeteria – Finished putting Huber letters in envelopes.’
So good to see Kathi – Hard trip – fire near airport in Denver – Delay in Chicago. She really will miss her daddy – So glad she has made the effort to stay in touch with him. Her last visit to Mesa was when we dropped her off on April 2.

Sunday, November 25, 1990
Mary was here when Kathi called saying Walt Haldeman died at 6:00 AM this morning in Phoenix hospital of congestive heart failure. Funeral will be Thursday at Timson-Allen-Melroy in Caledonia. Kathi & Dave will come – Kathi Monday 7:00 PM & Dave Tuesday 4 PM. Affected me more than I thought it would. After all we had 15 years together when we were growing up & he gave me 2 wonderful babies.
Asked Mary to take me for a ride & we went to Mt. Gilead. Shopped at Kroger & supper at McDonalds.
Came home & worked more on SBT. Called David & he will plan to be here Wednesday evening & Thursday for funeral.
Called Kathi back to confirm all plans. Olqua & Janice will arrive Tuesday with Walt’s body. Calling hrs 6:00 to 9:00 Wed – Funeral 1:00 Thursday

Stopped at Hemmerly’s to p[ick up ribbon to finish my arrangements, to Dr. Mauk’s Office to pick up signed letter to members – To Bazaar by 10:30 & it was in full swing. Set up an area to make bows etc. Started selling things. Left after having lunch – Still drug out from flu shot. Made labels for Huber renewal & all. Folded letters ready to mail.
