Rewrote “Fundamental Documents”. Told Howard gal from BancOhio Trust office will be here tomorrow. He reiterated (on tape) that he wanted me to have his money. I suggested using it to set up Terradise as a Nature Center. Seemed to like idea – Took him to grocery to lay in food for 3 weeks – Graham crackers & oatmeal & bread.
In to HH – erecting sign in corner – Used lettering to put up “Peg & Merle Hamilton – Many thanks for sign”. Geo Brown won’t like the “Wyandot Popcorn” lettering.
Made 2 copies of Irene Clark’s thesis on “Evolution of Marion, Oh 1942 – Called Charlton & asked him to consider using it in Marion book. Picked up Prince Imperial pix at Star & took back to Albert Seckels.
David called with price on Geo W King book 1,000 hardback for $10,000-
Sent David $250.

Sore throat better & more pep but nose running again.
Rewrote first chapter of book. 3rd draft. Incorporated Charlton Myers’ “Eber Baker on Ordinace of 1787′
Mary out with copies of schedule. Wrote to Wilda & Jackye & sent them one.
So nice out – Sunny – took walk in woods – scilla & crocus all in full bloom – wildflowers coming up. Daffs in bud – Too early for this!
Ruthe Haas out to pick up bio to use for Creator’s Guild publicity.
Finished pot roast for supper. Still not much pep – To bed at 9:30.

Struggled in to Al Tozers – sore throat & cough in tow – went thru stacks of envelopes containing negatives – Harding years-Huber-City Hall-water Co-Sorted out about 25 possibles for “Story of Marion”. To shop to pick up check & copy Gary Barnhart’s notes from 1890’s Marion Star. Deposited Hem check & last payment from Kristi on her loan – Bought pilot pens for Howard & home & into bed.
Mary out about 3:00 to check on me & pick up “Prairie” arrangement prototype to show committee- They will make them for April 10 meeting when I talk on Prairies.
Coughing my insides out.

Worked on Book-
Cooked pot roast & called Mary to come out – She brought Geneva – Said she’d tell Bill Hutchman what he missed. Sorted notebooks & piles of papers in my room. Filed some, emptied shelf for Historical reference books & got new file stuffed with book research. Much easier to work.

Still exhausted – Had to take my car to Mt. Gilead – C&D garage for service & wheel alignment.
David called about 4:30. He was at shop working on SBT Acctng for Faith Evanoski. Came up for Hemmerly’s party at Nicolosi’s Party. Many attended – All employees & guests – 37 with David & me. Sat with Rosanne Hopf & Don – He’s Publisher of Marion Star & supportive of history.
David MC’d & had me give a little Hemmerly history ad lib. Many told me they learned a lot & enjoyed knowing how we got started. David back to Cinci. My car returned to Hemmerly’s by Pete Belt.
