MCHS 20 miles – 2 hrs REgent meeting 4 hrs financial
Worked all morning on Norm’s financial records. In at 2:00 for meeting with Rosalie Adams, Evan Adams, Tricia Valentine, Jack Telfer, Helen Kaufman, Virginia Howard & I. Got it well started. Now I have to work on the Program announcement.
Picked Mary Jordan up at 5:15 & we went to Turroff’s for dinner. Had lasagna. Mary went with Geneva to Pt. Cols. o pick up Mary Ellen North coming in from Minneapolis.

Meet Mary at HH at 9 & to Cols in her card. Shopped at Arvey’s for MCHS – ($113) – for stuff I’ll use for MCHS!) Back to OHS while Mary visited Margaret Johnson Rinehart ?-
Talk with Richard Francoviglia about problems with Jack & lobby of HH. Just to keep him posted. Looked at new History Mall – Lunch at their cafeteria. Exec Comm at 1:00 in Education Library. Found whole shelf of Ethnological books by John W. Powell. Just finished Wallace Stegner’s Beyond the Hundredth Meridian, so was like meeting a friend.
Mary picked me up at 3:00 to get back to Marion by 4:00 to meet with Helen & Function Chairman. Got them thinking when Norm asked how much they needed in budget – when you tie activities to money if begins to make sense.
Home about 7:00 – tired!

Printed out Purchase, transformation & Brick FUnd reports to post at Heritage Hall. In at 12:0-0 & got them up with Eula’s help. Jack monopolized the program (25 minutes) praising his accomplishments. This to any open house group – many not members. Mary & I to Isaly’s for supper. Home & updated Transformation Fund with what Norm gave me & membership list with Margaret Cottrell’s notes. Also printed out list of bricks added for Mike Lyon at Glen Gery. Watched Murder She Wrote. To bed at 9:30.

Caught 2 fat mice in new traps.
Paid bills but didn’t balance check book. Sorted our 8 mm films to be put on video tape. Marion 1976 – Family 1978-0 – Terradise Spring 1970 – all filmed by David.
Ate ham & sauerkraut for lunch & then had diahrea (sp)
Called Don Shuyster – He had heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic early in Dec – Told me he had walked down to the road today and couldn’t walk 6’ without losing breath before repairs.
Sorted slides – Napped – enjoyed gorgeous clear picture on my new Sony Trinitron TV.

Took Howard to Reece’s to shop – I bought mouse traps & poison – Constant problem in my new kitchen cupboards (see below).
In to Heritage Hall to by 11:15 to copy Landmark brochures & Peterson’s Eastern Bird Guide – 1947 edition that lists Edith Keeler as a contributor. Also copied new brick orders bringing us up to 1094. Melinda Davies there so set up her program meeting for April 30.
To Hemmerly’s by 10:00 with copy of PC Anywhere (Modem program that I took off my computer last night.) Called David & he guided me thru installation easily – called back on modem to test – OK.
Back home to finish addressing envelopes for the 48 letters to new members who have not yet contributed to purchase fund. Took them in to Hammerly’s to seal & mail. Also took in bags of trash & picked up discarded plants & roses & mums. Took article on Designated Ceremony – one on Marion Nature Club meeting & letter from OHPO giving notice that P.O. Bldg was accepted to National Register of Historic Places – Rushed home in time to go to Al’s with 2 Marys.
When I came home decided to look thru garbage that was in kitchen the night my hearing aid disappeared when Howard cleaned up. Glory Be – It was in there!
