Started David’s “25 Years of DJH” book. Snowy & cold. Put up corn feeder but birds preferred corn stuck in trees. David & Karen out at 6 for supper. Looked at photo albums & D’atoches [?] sorted.

Signed $25,00 policy. Kent is paying the premiums as a way of buying Hemmerly’s in 10 to 12 years. Supper with David & Karen. Passed physical in good shape.

To Dr. Axthelm for physical. Picked up bird feed at Gist Elevator. At Quest Club really took the honors on a quiz program. Wrote Howard.

Hired Ruth Mulvaine as cleaning woman. She went to Oak Street School with me. Ruth Hibbard.

Erma Hutchman & I went to Columbus. Shopped Lazarus all day. Got 2 blouses, lining for purple coat., took Marion pictures to be framed – Got slack suit at Union. Ate at Green Meadows*

Supper with mother. To Travel talk “Houseboat to Florida”. Sat with Edith Keeler. Interviewed cleaning woman for shop.

Sunday, January 11, 1970
David, Karen & Bruce Burton* & mother out. We played in the 6″ of snow on the river & pond. David & Bruce went skiing at Mansfield after supper of pot roast. I took Karen & mother home. Bed 9:30.

Letter from Howard with his new address. Slept there last night. 1 weedding & 4 weddings sold. To the “Gaslight” in Upper Sandusky with David & Karen to hear David play with Al Wayne Band. Great Band!
