8 life new birds. Black Phoebe, Pygmy Owl, Mexican Jay, Golden Eagle
Breakfast with Peabody’s & stories of hummers. Bought bottles from Mrs. Brown & saw Blue Throated Hummingbird.
To Bisee- Lavender Pit- Tombstone, Met Smitty at 1:00. To Patagonia Bird Sanctuary – Taligate lunch – 3 hrs birding. Started home about 5. Unforgettable weekend.

Saturday, February 7, 1970 Beautiful weather.
In the Decker’s car picked up Wilda & at 11:30 we was at Mile-Hi (Peabody’s) in Ramsey Canyon S of Sierra Vista. Lunch on Patio. Hiked up Canyon – Robert T. Smith drove in at 4. Supper with him in Sierra Vista & talk talk talk.

Friday, February 6, 1970 Temp 85 degrees.
Kathi has so many friencs in constantly. Mostly with gifts for Kris. Took her shopping at commisary. She does everything but drive.

Thursday, February 5, 1970
Backyard birds are house finch, house sparrow, inca dove, starling & white crowned sparrow,. Cooking-dishes-clothes washed & fold – iron – sweep. Made reservations at Mile Hi for Saturday.

Wednesday, February 4, 1970
Good baby Kris. Only a little crying at night. Wilda Sturm over to see baby. Ask her to go to Sierra Vista with me on Saturday & Sunday.

Tuesday, February 3, 1970
At breakfast ask Davy if he knew what would happen today & he said “Baby home – Mommy home.” Guess Don & I don’t keep house as good as Kathi. But good to have her & Kris home.

Monday, February 2, 1970
Housekeeping at 1852 Popago. Davy loves “Sesame Street” on TV. To see kathi at hospital again. She’s up & walks to nursery with us to see Kris.

Flew to Phoenix – good connections. Don & Davy met me. Davy talking 2 word sentences. To hospital at 7 to see Kathi & black haired Kristi. So tiny.

Saturday, January 31, 1970
4 wedding appointments took valuable time. Travel Bureau closed so had to call TWA Columbus to get standby reservations for tomorrow.

Mary & rocky drove in at 10 P.M. My phone is out! – Don had called at 9:15 – Kathi & new baby Kristine Suzanne doing fine – born 6:15 P.M. 6# 13 oz.
