David in to shop at 8:00 to give Kass a WordStar lesson.

Karen and the kids and I went to Crum’s to pick strawberries. Got two baskets full- about 10 quarts. Susannah helped too!

David home about 5:00- had a conference with Norma Ekleberry. She convinced him she had done no wrong and hadn’t made up her mind about human services job.

He put all three kids in his red canoe and towed them down the river teaching them to paddle.

Saturday, June 22, 1985 Mercer, Pennsylvania
Visited one room Caldwell School and “school marm” May Beringer was charming. Then Historical Society and chapel and Cemetery in Mercer where four generations of Stokely’s buried. Benjamin Stokely moved there in 1982.

Lunch together at motel. Evening session mostly talking. Three distant emigrants represented- 1616 to Virginia later Delaware- 1775- Jeru Stokely to Pennsylvania and later Tennessee and that family founded Stokely Canning Company. Then about 1920 from near London came to Canada.

Got best acquainted with James Addison Stokely of Phoenix. He’s descended from Euclid- one of Benjamin’s 17 children.
