Dave in to Recruiters Office to take a test. Got 77 when most get 35. I reminded him that would be the kind of people he would be living with.

Took things to log cabin for Eber Baker bean recipe contest. Only two entries (Star and News Life carried four stories yesterday saying it was Tuesday). Norm and Donna Ruth Fogt there. Norman still repairing cabin.

Duck Pond ready that John Neidhart built without consulting Harry Bard- Fair Board member responsible for Pioneer Green area.

I parked at Baumer’s- 229 East Fairground and went into thank her as I left. The house looks even better than when mother lived there. So clean and tastefully decorated.

Dave cleaning his car- taking Paula Caudill from Waldo area to Cedar Point with BYF tomorrow. Heard loud radio. Went out- had motor running in order to play radio and not run battery down!

First zucchini.

Royce here to clean. Dave to Marion at 11:00 for appointment with army recruiter. The $25,000 for college after serving 4 years looks good to him. Reminded him he already has $10,000 for college from money Kathi saved from Don’s payments.

Deb Martin of the Star called and asked me to do a monthly column on local history for the Star. Said I would.

Dave built an enclosure of cement blocks for burning papers. Got rid of the 3-ft pile of ashes around the stump yesterday and sure looks better down there. I got into cleaning the shed. It looked like Howard had stood at the door and thrown in anything he thought shouldn’t be in the garage.

Greenhouse won’t be delivered until July 10th- D. Davidson called.

Mowed in the woods all morning stopping just in time to bathe and get to Marion by 2:30 to meet Eloise Noonan at Historical Center. She was to evaluate our clothing collection.

Just got out of the tub and Doris and Stewart Gibson from Akron with Wilda Sturm and Jackye Schuck from Wickenburg arrived. delighted to see them but had to call Norm to cover for me. Called Mary and she and Ken came out. All in to Center about 4:00 and then to Turoff’s for dinner. We laughed and really had fun reminiscing. I left them with Mary and I went to OSUM about 7:00 for Eloise’s program. Election of officers was re-elected secretary recording.

Dave cut the Japonica bushes near the pond. They never bloomed and made mowing difficult.

Howard and I drove into the trailer park to see how the 50 acres across the road lies. it’s [drawing of inverted L] shape.

To radio station to be on Morning Magazine with Mary Ann Michaels about Pioneer Green activities and especially the Eber Baker Bean cook-off.

Then to Country Club to speak to Christian Women’s Group theme was Everything’s Coming up Roses and my topic was Rose Fantasies. I gave a brief history of the Rose and some recipes for potpourri cooking etc.

To shop but couldn’t help Kass with black book problem. Ate at Turofff’s with Heckers and Jordans.

Dave has hauled the compost piles to the perennial bed by the mailbox. That area under the beech tree is too nice not to use pretty view of the river.*
