Royce cleaning while I was on phone with Richard Francoviglia- wanted final copy of Articles of Incorporation so took my “redding up” time.
In at 12:00 for Town & Country Garden Club luncheon at Country Club honoring past members. Sat beside Madge Guthery and learned that Stanford Marshall was just a friend but he flies to Marion about once a month to visit her. She admitted they had been in love years ago long before she married Howard.
Stopped at Howison & Howard and Virginia showed me how to rehang the draped curtains in my bedroom. Took list of MCHS members and their contributions up to George Brown and caught him just getting into his car.
Mrs. Southard from Dogwood Valley brought me a box of plants she thought was liatrus from my pictures shown at Mount Gilead Nature Club but they have serrated edges – liatrus is entire.
Weeded garlic mustard out of daffodil and wildflower plantings and transplanted clumps of daffs out of Wildflower area.

Royce here to help remove storm windows and wash windows. I washed curtains and we got most of them back up.
At 3:00 went into title office to transfer title on ‘85 Mercury Lynx to Dave. Had to walk to Marion Bank in rain to get $140 in cash to pay sales tax. Then took bathroom rug to laundromat to wash while I went to Odd Lots where Deputy Registrar is located to change license plates. learned that since Dave still owns the Honda plates couldn’t be transferred- had to buy new ones- $14. Then the post office on Barks Road to mail them. decided against Express next day as it would cost $12 and sent them Priority First Class for $2. Stopped at Hemmerly’s to cash check for ordinary expenses. Got chili and frosty at Wendy’s- dropped film off at Kmart. Got gas at Bonded $1.04 a gallon since the Alaska oil spill.
Charlton Myers called for advice on who to hire for genealogical research. I referred him to Maxine Marshall and Pat Winn. Also wants Iris for Greene Cemetery which he has maintained for 30 years. Also is getting his historical collections together and told me that he has told Ruth to call Trella when he dies and tell her to come get it all for MCHS.

crow – Move-in day at Heritage Hall from cottage. Overcast temperature 47
Took car to Inskeep to fix oil leak before lunch and travel series with Mary, Jessie Baker, her daughter Martha and friend. But when we went back for it they had only put dye in system. Drive it a few days so the leak can be traced and bring it back Thursday- sounds like a doctor!
Queen Elizabeth II cruise to New Zealand and Australia by Doug Jones made me wish I were wealthy.
The car load came out to Terradise for a little walk around the garden. Not so breathtaking without sun.
