Meant to write the Huber Association Newsletter, but got sidetracked fertilizing garden and then working on the kitchen. Cleaned range and pans, cooked chicken, another step in chunk pickles, did laundry, re-arranged shelves.
Bath and to dinner at Al’s in Cardington with Mary Hecker and Mary Jordan and Carl.
Letter from Dave Decker with his $130 loan repayment for his Mercury Lynx.
Acceptance letter from Francis Steube.

To Heritage Hall to help Jack Telfer with secretarial work. He wants to release the news stories, but wants me to write them. Showed me plans for incising Heritage Hall into facade of building. Sounds expensive. He and Tom Wagner went to Russ Reichardt’s and Judge Myers to see possible donations. I called Marie English to see if she was still interested in donating her furniture to society. Jack suggests we be housed in Charles Baker house that Mrs Patterson is trying to sell.
Home by 3:00 to meet with Ms Lutz (Wolohan rep) to measure for cabinets in kitchen. Cooked supper for Mary- string beans with ham and little new potatoes, beets, corn and watermelon. Delicious.

Royce here to help me clean garage. Got the north side completed. Cleaned and all but the shelves and potting bench on the south side. Exhausted but in to have supper with Mary before going to board meeting at Heritage Hall. Nine items from executive committee meeting adopted but still had business until 9:30. Lucy’s minutes needed correcting but she didn’t have them ready until 5 minutes before meeting so no chance to correct except at meeting and she isn’t speaking to me because I objected to the errors she inserted into my news release about prairie tour- for instance saying it is along railroad in Claridon, and inserting plants before grasses and forbes.
Calledl David- they had a great day at State Fair yesterday. Sarah got three ribbons on her baking and Karen got five on the kid’s clothes.

Wakened by Mayor Robert S. Brown with his idea on celebrating 100th anniversary of Marion becoming a city on June 2nd, 1990. So wrote a Day Before Yesterday column to kick it off and a letter to Brown outlining a modest celebration emphasizing growth. Day Before Yesterday article and co-sponsorship with Marion County Historical Society with ceremonies at City Hall and Heritage Hall on June 2nd, 1990- and Eula Watts Palace production if she’ll do it.
Wrote Francis Steube- Canal Winchester- giving details of what [OAHSM] regional reps do and compacted report of 1989 Regional meetings for regional Affairs committee. Both chairman moved out of region.

Got us ready for company and made fruit salad and brownies to serve. Finished second tray of slides to show but only showed first one- Anchorage and Denali Park.
Walt and Olgua brought Mary and arrived at 6:30 instead of 7:30 so Olgua had time to describe Dorothy Kehrwecker Kenyon’s operations in every detail. The Moshers came and Bill and Erma Hutchman brought Mary Jordan. Martha Neville also down. All seemed to enjoy.
Kathi called saying she was going out to photograph slides for me and what did I need.
