Volunteer hours 9 to 5:00 Heritage Hall M book bricks. High 53° cloudy windy
In to Heritage Hall at 9:00 Eileen Butterman reporting for duty. all fired up about being asked to volunteer and she’s great. Pitched in with enthusiasm and learns quickly.
Lots of people in to buy bricks and many phone calls. George Brown in and ok’d membership cards I had sorted for him & other aspects of campaign I planned. Wrote instructions for solicitors.
At 1:00 to Charlton Myers in Morrall to plan Marion City history. Tom Wagner there with report on Dave Brown’s house on Summit street. it’s jammed with boxes piles, etc.
Hard to keep Charlton on track but did get an outline. He loaned me George King’s book & on- on ‘Researching and Writing Local History.’
Took about 30 orders to Glen Gary for bricks to be ready for Christmas gifts. Tickly throat hope I’m not getting a cold.

Thanksgiving
Picked Mary up at 8:30 with station wagon loaded with her desk to take to Josh and Jed. To Cincinnati by 11:15. David and I to his office- showed me Foxbase and his network linking all his computers. David created my brick database files in Foxpro. Susannah made cranberry tarts, Sarah sugar cookies, Josh mince pie, Jed pumpkin pie. Karen did turkey dressing, and with turnip and lima bean garnish. cranberry ring, sweet potato crown, and delicious clam chowder. All delicious. Back to office but Cathy Meister took all the time making invitations to their open house. Back to visit before leaving at 6:00. Took a computer to Littleton Funeral Home in Springfield for David. No UPS service over holiday weekend.
Home about 9:30 p.m.
Kathi called about 11:00 from Tok- said Wrangell Mountains were beautiful against blue sky. No restaurants open in Tok, so they had a hot dog at convenience store and a Klondike for dessert. Taking popcorn back to sleazy motel. Weather 20 degrees

Windy 25 miles per hour high 50s low 43°
Highland Carpet man here to repair linoleum where cabinets didn’t fit. Hard job because of three layers of previous linoleum to build up around! but they did a great job.
In about 10:30 to Heritage Hall. Couldn’t get much work done for Jack talking. Installed new phone system with rotary- three phones. Left my car at Young’s for winterizing and went to Burroughs for lunch. Had to leave while Margaret Iams was reversing her slides on Nova Scotia. Donna Wargowski Thomas took me to Heritage Hall for meeting with Ted Myers and George Brown on fundraising. George attacked problems of contacting MCHS members for contributions to purchase post office. I have to update database payments since June.
Jack took me to Young’s to pick up car and met Mary and Geneva at Perkins for supper. Picked up Willis Nye and took him to Huber board meeting. Charlie Evers chair of nominating committee named Mike Deitch as vice president- disaster for Edward Huber Memorial Association in 2 years when he’s president.
