Saturday, July 11, 1981 95 – humid
Ray Foertsch here at 8:45 to install Emerson Air Conditioner Model 8GXIDS serial 350466 – 1 yr warranty.

David Peppard here to advise on attic ventilation. Bought a roof ventilator (automatic $100).

With Ray to Bordeaux to see about cement patio. Will give me an estimate. To work about noon – at 2 took tire to Harruff’s. Find the radial split so a $75 tire – 8,000 miles is no good. I probably did it by driving with it too low. To mothers, John Fetter there – complaining about her bed. (Of course) feet swollen & Mary can’t find shoes big enough.

Pontius wedding appointment. Dinner at Turroffs. Delivered funeral flowers for Florence Caskey at Timson Allen. Brought temp down from 88 to 78 with air conditioner.
Letters from Kathi & Dottie Morris.

Del & Joan Dalrymple – Bordeaux renters out & I discovered flat tire as they arrived so Del changed it – in the heat.

Type genealogy – Finished David Hildreth family.

About 2:30 James Breadiny family of Warsaw, Ind arrived. He is a 5th generation descendant of Henry Hatfield who owned my 18 acres at one time & is buried in Thew Cemetery. I sent him info on burial last Tuesday.

Made broccoli cassarole for picnic at Pat Winn’s honoring Diane Zacharias. 8 Employees out of 16 there. But good food. Diane like her watch.

Delivered weddding to Denmark Methodist Church about 10:00.

To May’s to pick up Diane’s watch & had flat when I came out. Drove to Harruff’s*. Found 2 holes. Says downtown Marion full of hazards with the “Street-Scaping” going on.

*Harruff’s Garage at the rear of the Palace Theatre was a classic auto/small engine repair shop.
