Saturday April 9 1938
Met Wally around 4:00 & we picked out wall paper for bedroom & breakfast room. Then did shopping for his mother. While dribbling in soda at Isaly’s realized it was too late to get candy.
After supper we took hot water in the sprayer and attacked the wall paper in the 2 rooms. It comes off easily after it soaks for about 1 hour.
BBB & Rosina stopped in for about an hour. Popcorn.
And so to bed.

Friday April 8 1938
Wally & Mary met the bus & we went directly out to Edison to see the Junior Play. Quite good.
Quite and ice storm in Marion Wed & Thursday. Split the apple tree in our neighbor’s yard and there were branches down all over town.
Lots of water between Delaware & Marion via Prospect.

Thursday April 7 1938
Bridge party a success I guess. Clara B won the Bridge Summary & Mary Fletcher the make up cape.
Very simple on my part. Had only 8 plates & 8 forks in the way of dishes.
And so to bed about 12:30

Wednesday April 6 1938
Woke with cramps about 5:00 this morning but got up at 7:00 & managed to get to work & last the day out.
Stan’s vaccination very “mellow”. Had it a week ago Monday as a result of the Smallpox scare around here.
Got Culbertson’s Summary for bridge prize & coke & pineapple & straws & wrapping paper for party.
Letter from Walt say it’s 1749 hrs. Yet.

Tuesday April 5 1938
Bought bridge mix, tallies, make up cape for party Thursday.
Cleaned my room & am so tired. Bath – wrote Wally & so to bed.

Monday April 4 1938
Mary is 19 today. I gave her 2 pair hosiery.
The office looked like a cyclone struck it when I got there this morning. Stanley’s explanation was that he was “busy” Saturday.
Walked up to Lazarus this noon & bought my living room curtains. 4 pair pin dot priscillas. – Had them sent directly to Marion.
Bridge party will be Thursday instead of Tuesday. Listed all needs tonight & got part of the things together.

Sunday April 3 1938
Brr – down to 30 this morning. BBB here this P.M. We walked over to our house – took off some more paper in the bed rooms.
Went through 3 drawers & the closet – selecting & discarding clothes. Put the ones I want on my chest of drawers & mother can do as she wishes with the rest.
BY – home – bed

Saturday April 2 1938
The Lennon Furniture salesman knows that we do not want a carpet & especially not in blue and as he didn’t have any he tried for 1 ½ hrs to convince us that we didn’t. I’m sure we will not buy anything there.
Mary, Walt & I went to an indoor circus sponsored by Jr. C of C. Not much- but funny in spots. Popcorn & so to bed early.

Friday April 1 1938
Stan in town today- so I get some of my work caught up.
Home on bus – Walt & Mary met me. Walt & I gave each other olive oil treatments & then I washed his hair for him.
To bed about 12:00.

Thursday March 31 1938
Marcella Risch – Bob Haldeman’s present flame called me at work and asked me to come over for tonight & stay with her at Mack Hall. I had a terrible headache but got rid of it by a ¾ hr nap at noon. So I went over about 7:30. They have very small rooks but with a convenient lavatory. We went out about 8:45 & met Bob & took a walk – had a coke – then back to room & to bed. Is her line of conversation a clear light on her character? Very nice is some ways & thinks Bob is perfect. Ho Hum.
