Worked from 9:30 to 4:15 on typing Hildreth history. – William II family & move to Ohio.

Picked up partial plate at Dr. Vornholt at 4:45 & met Mary & Ken for supper at Isaly’s. Gave me card mother had written to Kathi – complaining that Mary wouldn’t let her have bananas. Mary gives her three a day – if she gives her more she hides them and they rot! Mary has been giving her Tylenol for a sleeping pill and it seems to help. Kenny put a new rod by her bed to help her get up at night.

Stopped at Woolworth’s & got diary ($2.99) and Crayola caligraphy set. Then up to see mother & home by 6:45. Crossword puzzle & T.V.

Reading “Sacajawea” by Anna Lee Waldo. Kristi was reading it two years agaon when she was 10!

Mary & Ken having ceramic tile installed around their bathtub $400. Sold mother’s refrigerator for $50.

Typing AM. In at 1:30 to take partial plate that has broken gold connecting part. Had to make impression to put back together. Then to shop. Found it swept outside & window displays up, things that disturbed me Tues. Judy still working on inventory. Cheryl still didn’t have Dec 31 sales entered so I entered it & totalled. Christmas off about $4,000 from 81 but up from 1979. Total asales only down $1,500 because of much funeral work. Receipts off $1,000.

Joe Halberstein called – wants last financial statement, Corporation records up to date, share forms and doctor’s statement. I objected to last but made appointment for physical – Feb 12 & 19.

Home about 5 & bed by 8:30.

To Columbus – OAHSM Board at OHS 10 to 5:30. Planning regional meetings, new newsletter, new constitution.
Talked to Jack Lanum of East Liverpool on early Columbiana Co. He’s knowlegeable on routes pioneers used coming there.

At 3:30 went up to library. Found Muskingum Co. Cemetery inscriptions. Under Newton Twp was “Stokely Family Cemetery.” Listed were 5 graves – Phoebe Hurlbut widow of Benoni – David & Abigail Wooley. All with dates. Here is proof that Abigail was Benoni’s daughter that I needed for “First Families of Ohio”.

Back to Marion by 6:00 for meeting of Fund Raising Committee with Blair Schreyer of Ketchum Co. – Professional Fund Rainsers. To raise $250,000 would probably cost $20,000 – A atest of possibilities would cost about $1,500.

Terry Maloney-Rose attended. New in Marion. Would like job with MCHS.

Kathi packing. Seems glad to be leaving & withdrawn from me. Played Othello with Kristi & used her Crayola calligraphy set.

Read Grandpa Sheneman’s letters. In to say goodby to mother and picked up Helen Romine to go to airport with us. All new construction finished except short term parking garage. Huge! Had a snack in cafeteria. Plane won’t be stopping in Dayton so good thing Don didn’t plan to put Kristi on there! Airport somewhat crowded even with expanded facilities.

Home by 8:00 – Seems empty after company.

Shop looking bare – Finally took down Christmas tree from center of shop.

Received a check from Don for $150 for Dave’s Jan support and a nasty letter from Rita saying they would pay double in Feb, Mch & April to catch up.

Howard & I put polyethylene on deck door. The base is rotted out & door is out of line letting cold air in. Dave & I picked up cement blocks from my land across road to use to anchor poly over greenhouse.

In to meet Birdie Mosher & Dorcas Shaffer at Hist Center. They will be hostesses for Open House Jan 9. To Gloria Marshall for ½ hr. Down to 162 ¾ from start of 163 ¾ & high of 164 ¾. Picked up Hildreth Genealogy that I had loaned to Lewis Ashworth – He was amazed at Uncle Allen’s work To visit mother. Picked up pizza for supper – So good to be spending Don’s money for dave instead of mine or Kathi’s.
