Terry Zacharias out at 8 & finished loading MCH stuff including the Gatewood trunk John Cottrell & Carroll Neiddhart at Big Red & we got ll the rest of the courthouse ledgers that were there. Had to haul the big bookcase on top of my wagon. Wouldn’t go in van. Virgil Hinamon also helped.
Then to Mary’s. Ruby Thompson & Lorain & Florence there to pick up Rev. Hawk’s embezzlement from Epworth Church. Ed* chairman of board and discovered it. We went to hobby show at Tri-Rivers. She sure enjoyed it.
Got craft ideas for Country Store. Nice talk with Mr. Tilton who collects safety razors. He knows Harold Hildreth because of Harold’s straight razor collection.
The rest of the proofs of the Hildreth Genealogy were there when I got home – looks good. Jordan’s & Hecker’s out at 4:30 & all to Holiday Inn in Bucyrus for Hecker’s birthday dinner. Gave them the Clematis that I had bought for them. Called Kathi.

Terry & Jerry Zacharias out at 8 & helped load Marion Mirrors & Tribunes from shed in wagon to go to Center. Met Carl Lehner at Big Red Quickprint & loaded small furniture & ledgers & bookcases of City Directories.
David Jackson who moved to Marion from Delaware came by on his bike but his help was nil as he suffers from Asthma & was dirt around.
To Mary’s to see Mother. Brenda stayed last night so Mary did not have to get up during night & could sleep this morning.
Judy out after attending seminar on computers at Marion Tech. She agreed with all Brenda & Diana had told me of Kass’s takeover & would like her out. Says she has changed completely. Talked to David about it.

Thursday, April 15, 1982 Gorgeous Day Sunny 75
Helped Howard burn stacks of brush down along river & picked up hundreds of sticks. To Caledonia to sale of Helen Campbell’s things. She lived just south of Methodist Church. First Class everything. Prices paid were unbelievably high. $210 for a small spinning wheel. – $25 for a glass C’mas tree ornament. $50 for artificial C’mas tree.
Brenda Enseman & Diane Zacharias out to protest Kass’s take over of the shop leaving Judy out of management decisions (prices at Easter) but telling her to pass on personnel decisions that were unpleasant – setting up of “13 Rules” – then Kass disobeys them. SHe told them I would have to be paid if they used my car or greenhouse & they didn’t want to pay me. Ordered shirt for Bob Litzenburg (who didn’t even work for Hemmerly’s at Christmas & the smocks were C’mas gifts.) but didnt want Terry to have one. They talked an hour with grievances – Then we walked in the woods.
Spoke at DAR meeting on “A Walk In A Colonial Garden” – USed Monticello, Williamsburg & Georgetown slides. Was given #10 & an application blank.

Sunday, April 11, 1982 Easter
Sure didn’t seem like Easter but woke up feeling like myself for the first time in two weeks.
Sunny but cold. Picked Mother up about 2:00 after all her fussing getting in the car. She was delighted to be out. Went to Sheneman’s Corners area & stopped to see Harold & Marian Hildreth. They have Wm. Hildreth IV’s bouse almost ready to move in to from Marysville. Mother enjoyed seeing all their cats (25) but of course had to tell Miriam how to feed them. We all sat in car & talked until sun went low & got cold. Harold has pictures & deed I want to see so plan to go down soon. No flowers.
No eggs – no candy – no new clothes – no church – no family – Sure didn’t seem like Easter.
