Awake at 5:00 – Breakfast at Denny’s “off campus” – Sessions on “Newspapers as Sources”, “Building a Personal Genealogy Library”. Later came the Germans who stayed “Documenting an Application for Lineage Society: – all great. Lunch at Quality Inn & time for rest. Hot out. After sessions to hospitality room – Best one had publications of American Association of Historical Societies – no time for drinking ones.
Banquet had no favors or flowers but food & service superb. Awards by President Phyllis Johnson (friend of Elizabeth Jones). 3 genealogists – John Cottington – Ken Stryker-Rodda, Rubincem gave “case” histories & the serendipity of searching. At our table was John Wierman of Atwood, Ill. whose ancestor George Stull is buried in Miller Cemetery – Miller Twp Knox Co. Ohio where Joanna Chalker Hildreth & Wm. & Ruth Hildreth et. reburied. Also knew that a Wierman married a Sheneman – check Allen’s index.
