Cleaned front flower beds – Planted alyssum plants and nasturtium, zinnia & Shirley poppy seed – about 4 hrs. in garden.
Proofs back from Hubbard & they finally got it right. Corrected these & have ready to return but can’t find photos of Charles Hildreth Family.
Penny Johnson Diebert called. She is descended from Mary, a sister of Abigail Hurlbut – David Haldeman’s generation.
Put in a call to Dr. David Maddox who owns the farm where Stokelys lived in Newton Twp. Penny wants to go there with me Monday.

Rhett Paulus came before breakfast and exlplained some differences in boundries on 2 acres across the road before telling me that the Murphy’s had accepted my offer of $12,000. I was so thrilled I nearly jumped off the deck where we were sitting – Has to clear up Federal Land Bank mortgage, easement for gas line, have survey made and clear it with Regional Planning. So he will earn his 6%!
Finished painting bathroom closet – Everything out of it still on the floor.
David called at 5:00. Karen admitted to University Hospital – Columbus. Dr. Davidorf will operate at 7:30 tomorrow morning with local anesthetic.
In at 5:30 to meet Mary at Mother’s as people coming in answer to ad. Godwin – postmaster – bought my 1930 bedroom suite for $100. Mother and Daddy paid $35 when they gave it to me for graduation in 1933. Then to Jane & Harold Alexander’s to see their 1890 house on S. Greenwood St. Gorgeous antiques.

Rhett Paulus out to “show” me the 3 acres across the road that Murphy’s have for sale at $45,000. stepped it off 7 I signed an offer to buy 2 acres – 425 ft. frontage 200ft deep for $12,000.
Picked Mary up about 11;30 & we went to Mother;’s to “clean up” after yard sale. Brought home Hemmerly records including book with sales from 1938-1947 – from $38 to $4,000 – Daddy’s ICS book on electricity and autos – correspondence – my basement is crammed.
David called – Dr. Raymond said back to hospital so they asked for another Dr. Have appointment in Columbus Thurs.

Howard mowed with riding mower & I used push mower. Sure made everything neat – mowed grass shows up the rhododendrons that are blooming beautifully.
Painted doors that were redone on rec room cabinets & shelves in bathroom. Stained baseboards in hall where linen closet was removed.

Uncle Allen called to see why Hildreth Genealogy wasn’t ready. Explained delays.

At Mother’s from 9:30 to 5:00 except for an hour at the shop to copy Bob’s story of flight on a phantom jet.
Soled the electric range for $125 & had total sales of about $450 – $41 was Mary’s – $18 mine, $25 for Shorty’s dresser. Not much left buy but some cloth things – 3 chairs – few pans & glassware.
Letter from Barb Parker Richardson with copy of a paper one of her students did on computers. Letter from Thelma Brocklesby saying she has County Histories to sell.
Watched “Love Boat” & “Fantasy Island” – Louie Anderson on both! Needed just to relax.
Mary & Ruel Sutherland bought things – Might be interested in Mother’s house.
Called Kathi – had a good trip to N. Calif. coast with Bob’s parents. Stopped at Bonanza King Resort & saw our cabin – 4 twin beds. 1 hr. N. of Weaverville – 40 mi.

In to Mother’s at 9:00 to get set up for yard sale – misty rain all morning.
Mary Jordan was cashier on porch.G eneva Brewer helped price & advise – She’s had lots of experience.
I took a turkey noodle cassarole & we ate “The Last Supper” at 229.
Came home at 5 utterly exhausted. Bed at 7:00.
Sold $248.
Loaded most of the personal things from the upstairs closet into my car.

Quest Club Picnic here. Hair in curlers & still cleaning when the social committee arrived at 11:30 for 1:00 serving. About 20 and a few did actually go as far as the greenhouse. Rhododendren blooming beautifully. Marge Anderla gave me a Kodak book “The Joy of Photography”.

Fertilized lawn beyond Oak tree but wheel came off again. Also used 14-14-14 fertilizer on flower beds.
David called – Feels he can learn enough to write a program for florists accounting & market it. Really wrapped up in his computer. Karen check up with Dr. was good – and she seems to be seeing better.
