Came back home at 2 & planted tulips & raked leaves. 16 at Flower Arranging class. Did mums in shredded styrofoam & pompon in oasis.

Rain – Voted for Nixon & Dick Straub – Nixon reelected of McGovern – Straub lost. Dinner at Mother’s. I took pork chiopes & potatoes. Marcella Haldeman with me to hear Duke Ellington.

Sunday, November 5, 1972
Talked to Dave & Rhoda Woessner. Wedding at Claibourne. Took Mother & visited Willa. David & Karen called – talked about an hour. Ins – Kent – Europe (offered them $500 for trip) – Keogh Plan, etc.

Saturday, November 4, 1972
Maggie still off with cough. No weddings today. Connie off on vacation all week so Debbie did tomorrow’s wedding. To Bill* & Erma’s for delicious dinner. They would like to sell lumber company.
[* Bill & Erma Hutchman, owners of Lockwood Lumber Company on North Greenwood Street, formerly the Slanser Lumber Company, for whom Trella’s father Ray Hemmerly drove a truck (The first gasoline engine truck in Marion).]

Martha brought cake & Sis ice cream. Mary & Rocky took Mother & me to dinner at Harding, Steak & wine. Then to see Barbra Streisand in “Funny Girl”.

Teeth cleaned. Bought red & black knit jumper at Bentz $60. Daver may be interested in job at Hemmerly’s. Bought Kristi dress & 2 body suits. Box with basket, bottle & bed warmer from Germany. Made chair of Bake Sales, Board of Historical Society.

No sun since Thursday. Bill Ferrall doing good job. Aiken wedding appointment took 1 hr 20 min! Rain. Datsun being repaired at Jividen’s. TV very poor.

Don & Agnes stopped in on way home – Mary & Rocky out but missed Shusters. Potted in greenhouse – new heater works fine. Pick up Agnes pottery at River Bend Campground – pretty place.
