Foggy AM – Drove to Cincinnati arriving about 12:30. Saw David’s new table saw & joiner that I gave him $300 toward for birthday. He to rehearsal, Karen & I shopped. Bought dress shoes at Mably & Carew. Showed Kathi’s movies.

David 28. Mother helping mail statements. Bout Timex Electric watch & bracelet $40. Picked up new gold rimmed glasses. Met Martha at Straub’s & bought Christmas – $1,000.

Sunny – Temp 50’s – Sally & I cleaned garage. Raked & burned honey locust. Planted daffs in pots that didn’t get planted last fall.

Had Harold Seiter install bulbs last night from Verda Roy & people & flowers look dead. Wrote them.

Letter from Court Airlines – Luton, England – saying them have my suitcase! Wrote with info. Called David. Hostess at Burrough’s with Jeanne Moorehouse at Click’s. President LB Johnson died.

Letter from kathi about rip to Munich to see Lisa. Brownie troop from Vernon visited shop. Lion Ribbon order delivered drenched in rose perfume. To Altrusa dinner – Mr. Barton on Lager. On TV at 10 PM President Nixon announced Vietnam peace.

Sunday, January 21, 1973
Mended clothes. George Schwab called about 3 so I went in to deliver wreath to funeral. Picked Mother up & brought her out. Mary & Rocky out later to see movies Kathi sent. Mary upset about Tecumseh strike settlement.

Started out as quiet Sat – but Clyde Smith’s funeral work piled up. No weddings.

Beautiful sunny day. Sally washed windows & I raked honely locust pods & worked in greenhouse. Carl Jordan out to return long dress I loaned Mary J but she didn’t wear.
