Letter from Mrs. W.A. Baker complaining of Barry’s driving.
Chris, student at Mich. U. starting her 880 hrs student training. Tanya Lance also started. Shows more interest than Chris. Made appointment fo see Earl Manter tomorrow about my accounting & spent day getting things ready. Kathi very touchy. She can’t stand to make a mistake. If she’s found out it really bugs her. I suppose it’s because she hates herself for not being as perfect as she’d like to be. Pork chops for supper.

Left Sheneman’s about 10 & up freeways (Garden Grove & San Diego) to 101. Gorgeous day – blue sky & views of Coast Range & Pacific were stupendous. Oil wells off shore near Santa Barbara & Channel Islands discernable. Stopped at Ventura Holiday Inn beach parking garage convenient. Ice plant blooming & African daisies on hills. Arrived Solvang about 3:30. Checked in at Royal Copenhagen which looks like a Danish Street & went shopping. Baked goods, gift shops, needlework shops, wooden storks on shingle roofs, smorgasbord dinner really authentic. Called Kathi – Cindy quit! Deal on Greenwood house went through.
