Picked up 12 yr old baby sitter & took her & kids to kathi’s. Got kids after work & brought them home with me.
Paris & Helen in to tell me Sandra Romine had mastectomy & cancer through her back. Prognosis not good. Paris was in hospital at same time for his 9 mo. check up and he was ok.

Got income tax reports from Grady – owe $5,000 plus the $10,000 I’ve already paid!

Tuesday, March 30, 1976 Temp 74 – Sunny – Hyacinth, Daffs, bloodroot.
Stopped by Kathi’s to say goodbye (Barry took her to Port Columbus to leave for Utah to drive back with Bob – He’s retired – 20 yrs Air Force)
To Granger Realty at 11:30 to sign closing papers for 552 N. Greenwood. I got #13,070. The Pipers will be paying almost $16,000 with their closing costs. The purchase price was $15,500. Stopped by to tell Martins. No one home but told Mrs. Deyson it had been sold. Looked at Fairview Gardens property for $75,000 but I’m too old.
Picked up kids at 6:00. Walked around pond. Ed Marvich, new neighbor behind, was over.

Sunday, March 28, 1976 Temp 60 – sunny – calm.
Gorgeous day – a little cool. Spent AM photographing wild flowers. About 1:30 Howard & I left for Mohican. Fields so green. Hills beautiful in Richland Co. Home at 4:45 after finding hepaticas there. Teetors had been here & Kathi. She left kids & Mother while she went back in to get things Clarks had moved from Normandy to their house. Mary & Rocky out for supper. Country ribs, brocolli & cornbread. Mother brought cake she baked in her new oven. Showed California slides.

Monday, March 29, 1976
To Grady’s with sales tax deficiency report. He says I don’t have to pay the $219. Was very cool. Kathi worked until noon & then left for dental appointment & to pack for her trip.
2 wedding appointments. Raymond Smith very uncomfortable with tubes, etc. Martha & Debby both off PM.
Shopped at new Kroger store near OSU & got free loaf of bread for being amount first 500 to go in today.
Letter from Helen Roesner with her children’s addresses. Flower arranging class for OSUM started at shop. 24 people.

Saturday, March 27, 1976
Rained for wedding at St. Mary’s. Penry girl married Claude Emery. Caledonia family that moved to N. Bay, Ontario.
Lots of funeral work. Jim Schultz delivered. Barry went to W. Va.

Thursday, March 25, 1976 Sunny beautiful day temp 70
Daffs, scilla, vinca, hepatica, bloodroot blooming. Headache AM. Carl Granger called. Title to 552 N. Greenwood not clear because land contract Rasniks had with mother had never been recorded as released. Mother had all papers & Carl was to pick them up. Made pot roast for supper & had Kathi & kids out.
Program committee meeting for Quest Club here. Isabelle Stump, Marge Williams & Janet Gaddis. Served cookies from Solvang.

Friday, March 26, 1976
Carl Granger found that Rasnik had signed the release on the Greenwood Land Contract but mother hadn’t. So got her signature & he took it to have it recorded. So deal is all set. Will be “closed” Tues.
Donner’s kittens born on potting bench, but all four dead when I pulled into garage. Put them in a box in greenhouse for Howard to take care of.

Wednesday, March 24, 1976
Took Mother to Morral on delivery. Stopped at Mary & Rocky’s to take Uncle Allen’s tape for duplicating.
Grocery shopped. First time for weeks. $17 – not bad.
Got truck license plates & paid for wagon.

Tuesday, March 23, 1976
With Earl Manter, CPA from 5 to 7:15. He feels my complaints against Grady are justified & will let me know after April 15 if he’ll do my accounting & how much I could follow everything he said.
To Altrusa dinner. Swiss steak, asparagus, baked potatoes, salad, fruit cup & cookies for $3.50. Joyce Brown, wife of congressman Clarence Brown, talked of her life as a Washington “House” wife. Charming & disarming in her trying to make Washington a small town. To Kathi’s & took babysitter home & stayed with kids until Kathi got home from Teleflora meeting in Columbus. She went with Straubs.

Sunday, March 21, 1976 Kathi & kids to Dayon. Spent day with Don at Air Force Museum
David & I up about 9:30 & after breakfast showed him some of the genealogy I had copied. About noon went in to Ericksons to show the sky movies taken last week*. Also some of Erick’s ski movies & Dan’s “Julius Caesar”. To Mary’s to load shredder & roto tiller & since David couldn’t get them in his little Mazda, Mary drove truck down & I rode with David. Arrived his house about 6. Omelet supper. Played with Sarah – saw some Marion movies & started home at 8:00. I drove. Home here about 11:30 exhausted.
