Saturday, April 10, 1976
Dave called bome about 2 – Andrea (age 14 mo) who had high feaver [sic] since Thursday to hosp. Randy called later. She has spinal menigitis. So I got busy in garage to get ready for Easter. Took some things to Mother’ and picked up other stuff to bring back. Barry helped. Mike from Engles had delivered 100 plants there earlier.
Did wedding at Fite Memo. Carroll Neidhart’s brother. Also one at Lee Street House of Prayer. Talk about “Camp”. David should see that! Grocery shopped at Big Bear. Bed early.

Friday, April 9, 1976
To work at 10 & then to Artisan’s Guild at 11:30 – Macrame – girl from Columbus who did nice macrame but no personality.
Kathi & Bob at shop when I got back – Both in good spirits. Bob got Ohio driver’s license.
To Kathi’s for supper. Mary & Rocky there & left for movie & camje back later for showing of Bob’s slides of trip. Gorgeous Utah scenery – Arches, Canyonlands & Mercure.
Home about 10:00.

Thursday, April 8, 1976
Howard had painted new shelves to fit in area in my bedroom where butterfly collection was, so started sorting books to put on shelves. I’ve got too many “things”.
Barry [Everly] out and we put up new swing in sycamore. Dave Ioeger put the last one up in 1959. Barry also straightened stone seats.
I went in at 12:30 to show wildflower slides to Senior Citizens group at Rotary Towers. Room not dark so slides looked terrible. Kids to to “circus” with Kass Mattimore. Kathi & Bob got home at 10:00.

Tuesday, April 6, 1976
Picked kids up at Jean’s & took them to Isaly’s for supper. Seemed I knew everyone there. Donnar Tower had heard it was Kathi had cancer instead of Sandra! Brought kids home & we picked daffs to take to school.

Monday, April 5, 1976
Kathi called at shop. Transmission fixed at Montrose Colo. & heading for Gunnison.
Kids up early so no prblem getting them to school by 8:20. Ordered 4 door Buchbinder refrigerator $2,350 & sent check. Should be here for Easter. Started moving candle area to make room for it. Gave shop plans to John Baldauf for estimate & told him John Teetor wanted to bid. Don’t think he liked the idea, but Everett Caldwell at bank says John Baldauf is fair.
Class on one sided arrangments went well. I left at 8:30 sharp to join Mary & Rocky for “Andes” – Thayer Soule – great!

Sunday, April 4, 1976
Kathi called from Mancos, Colo. Had been to Mesa Verde.
Mary took kids to Sunday School. Bill & Erma out & we walked through woods & Mary brought kids out & went right home as she had headache. I had her birthday gifts ready – Fenton plate & pottery from California so I took it in to her later.
Paris & Helen out – nice visit. Had planned wiener roast for kids, but too cold so did them in oven.

Saturday, April 3, 1976
Stopped at “Greenery” for some peat & Larry & Mimi Kasmann told me they are buying the Fairview Gardens property. When I got hom Howard had bought peat, too. Reading James Michener’s Centennial – Colorado.

Friday, April 2, 1976 Kathi called from Hanksville, UT
Kids at shop until 10 when I took them to Jean’s. Sue Remke to pick them up about 3. Have them all night & take to Mary’s tomorrow.

Thursday, April 1, 1976
Worked all day on plans for expansion. Kids woke me with “Gramma, it’s snowing” – and it was! Several times during the day.
Later they came up saying “Donner has kittens”. I thought it was April Fool, but Hobart had brought her 2 wk old kittens from across the road & both she & Donner were mothering them.
Took kids to Mary’s while I went to Quest Club Guest Day. 51 there & Janet Gaddis came throught with program! Lady Barbershop & Rev. War women. Picked up kids & home with me. Kathi called from Utah. Good weather there.
