Sold my GE ref for $85. Really hated to let it go but Howard didn’t want it in the basement.
Did Trinity wedding at 2:30 & one at Prospect Baptist at 6:30.
Steve usher for a wedding & didn’t get in until noon.
Dave off to go to Indianapolis & Laura off to go to Lancaster where her Dad is in Intensive Care. Lucille Smith died but only had 6 pieces for her.

Bob out to help put in fence posts. Howard seemed to resent it & said he was going to a retirement home! To Audio-Visual studios to make tape for our 30 sec commercial.
Burton wedding at Trinity- Floyd’s granddaughter. Groom fainted twice during ceremony. Made 2 deliveries to Caledonia & Janet Reynolds gave me copy of historic buildings booklet. Interesting to note their bi-centennial project was razing one of the oldest buildings in town.

To Head Shop for “texture” permanent $17.50. Don Woodland in to talk open house ads and new WDIF contract. Dave Hollenbaugh and Ken Charles in to videotape commercial for open house. Butch from Hall-Beck’s in to see what signs we need to point out where things are.
Mary called saying Joyce White from Happiness Travel Bureau called about African trip at $2,250 for 3 weeks in August. Moved table into kitchen area. They laid linoleum there last night. Home at 8 & bed at 10:00.

Got pegboard (burlap covered) fastened to steel shelving so now new showroom has an “end”.
Took copy to Bernhard Brooks at Hall-Beck’s for open house invitations. Got copy ready for all advertising media. Bob Webb in to sell Kathy $10,000 Insurance whole life. I bought $1,500 annuity under Indiv. Retirement Account. Told Peacocks I’d take new gas furnace boiler at $1,650.
Kathi, Connie, Debbie and I to unit 614 Teleflora meeting at Buxton Inn in Grandville. In use since 1809. I won costume prize but I sure wasn’t Martha Washington.

Got Sarah out of crib while Karen and David still asleep. She crawled all over my bed and pulled herself up to railing. Pancakes breakfast and then into shop. Had mulliona in bay windows so really looked nice. Kathi Bob and kids back to Terradise and had board meeting while having lunch. David and Karen left for Cincinnati about 3 and I back to work. Worked until about 8 getting merchandise out that had been boxed during remodeling.
Got price of $3,650 on van with interior insulated window doors and top vent.

So tired I couldn’t enjoy kids but did take them rowing on Pond. Davie caught tadpoles and receiving pot. Kathy out about 12 to pick them up and I napped until 4 when David called saying they would be up. Had a pot roast supper for Howard and me. Baked shortcake and cleaned strawberries and had that for David and Karen when they arrived at 8:30. Sarah walking a few steps and does deep knee bends when she picks up what she drops.

Jim Schultz in to work for Steve who went to wedding. I had wedding in Waldo so delivered Prospect Lutheran. Connie and Debbie each serviced one also.
Kathi having dinner party for Barb Jamison and Mike and Ken and Linda Rudy so I brought kids home with me. They slept on floor in my room and Christy read Ford Times.

Rogers Wreath salesman in. Bought about 125 wreaths $900. To Pizza Smorgasbord with Kathi & Bob for lunch. $1.79-pizza & salad. Bob Webb from Metropolitan in to explain. Individual Retirement Act through Metropolitan Annuity. Only Kathi, Dave & Connie interested. Kathi & I to Bauldauf & Schlientz- no silca rocks. Dave clenaed old ones out of plant area. To Race Motor – Charlie Evans showed us truck & after pros and cons – decided on the 6 cyl no air, but he will insulate it & put vent in top. Our truck & $3,000. TO Pannys & bought 4.5 cu. ft. ref? $1.49.
Brought old stone home in truck and made 2 Caledonia deliveries. Unloaded part of stone & Bob, Kathi and Davy & Kristi came & finished. Put up hanging lamp.

Potted mum cuttings & repotted lots of things in greenhouse. Set out lots of petunias, zinnias & begonias. Trimmed along steps & got into poison ivy.
Kathi called saying truck with air conditioning would be $900 more. Total $3,900 & out truck. Said no. She called later & said Steve left truck in Marion Power Shovel lot to make delivery & came back & it had hit 2 cars! Likely story.
