Hobart to vet too much infection so had to leave her for euthanasia.
Stopped at Mother’s and she recalled the rainy day I picked her up by their garage door, a tiny wet kitten. (Before 1966). And I took her in to Doctor Kantzer in a pouring rain and she purred when I rubbed her dry with his towel. I feel so miserable tonight. I should have taken her in when she lost her kittens 10 days ago. But the infection seemed to be in her head from ear mites doctor said. I think it was more than that. At shop from 12 to 2. Usual problems. Barb & Joe Richardson & 18-month Noreena at Kathi’s and then here for 15 minutes..

Thursday July 15th 1976 temperature 94 dropped to 68 during tornado watch at 7 p.m.
Slept till 11 too hot to do much. Finished cleaning dresser drawers and clothes sorting. Got film credits and negatives ready to send in. Kathi and kids out about 5. Brought my sewing machine repaired $30 and iron lawn chair welded. Weiners, broccoli, red raspberries and ice cream for supper. Kathi took about half of my too small clothes. Only have to be shortened. Davy caught two tiny tree frogs. About half inch long. Kristy is getting 2 six year molars and was so proud because she put new toilet paper on the roller. Worked on genealogy copying.

Howard and I drove to Knox County- picked red raspberries at farm on Green Valley Road then to Road 126 and found a house William Hildreth II built about 1835. William and Linda Jacob and two kids bought it a year ago. Inside has been remodeled- terrible arches and Mediterranean wallpaper with that beautiful Sheraton mantle. But they loved it and rescued it from hippies. Farm has been subdivided and they have 20 acres. To Granville and had lunch at Buxton Inn. I had croquet Monsieur French toast sandwich with mustard sauce. On the east of Newark to Neder Farm to dig Flint. We mostly picked it up. To Zanesville but potteries closed. Back to Flint Ridge Museum and ice cream at Old Mill

Howard and I to Mrs. Waite’s woods To gather Trillium seed. Most of it had dropped off- did something eat it? Wayne Cochran harvesting wheat in next field said he had seen five deer beside Woods last week. Planted what seed we did find where not mowed near trees. In future years someone will deduce that we mowed off all of the trilliums except where the trees protected them!
Read Columbus Dispatch Bicentennial magazine section of last week on Ohio from 1776 to 1803. Cooked pot roast and fresh sweet corn for supper. Kathi and I Columbus to see Harvey Corman in “Norman, Is That You?” Didn’t know the play was about parents finding out their son was a homosexual!

Two big church weddings cancelled- one, Madeline Sawyer’s granddaughter at Emmanuel Lutheran. The other Frazure at Freewill Baptist. Salvaged church decorations but they’ll have to pay for rest. Took new arch to Weber Farm north of Waldo and set it up in open windy area. But it didn’t rain even though the humidity was 85% and temperature 88. Sidewalk sale total about $148. Back to Waldo Methodist for 7:30 wedding and found a pair of black candelabra that had been there two years. Bought fresh corn from Lawrence’s. $1 doz.. Ham and corn for supper. To bed 10:30- fan on me very warm.
