Howard woke me at 4:30 – something wrong with furnace. Basement full of steam & water running out of it in a flood. Raining outside too. Sopped up water (after Howard turned pumps valve off) with blankets & spun them in washer. Took 2 hrs to get the loose water up. I went back to bed at 8 and slept till 10:30- but was exhausted all day. Another wedding at Enterprise Baptist & had to wait again to get in. 2 at St. Mary’s & 1 at Trinity & 2 other small ones. To Kathi’s for supper. She had Walt & family as a farewell picnic before they move to Arizona. Rocky & Mother out for dessert. Home about 10. David & Karen arrived at 12:30.

Peacocks (Sharp) & Neffs (Electric) here to finish the furnace installation. And good thing because it rained all day & is 60 tonight so a little heat felt good.
Pat O’Hare in with Corporation Income Tax return for our first year – almost $2,000 profit, but with investment credit of 10% on remodeling we have no income tax to pay!
Bob Johnston in “out of the past”. I wouldn’t have recognized him. Mary & Mother in at some time. He wanted a doz. Milk glass vases to put the “roses” he makes of shells & sells for $3.50 a doz!

Mrs. Jones cleaned for shop picnic. Kathi called saying gas company called saying they has service discontinued order from 665 Normandy. She investigated and found the Sullivans skipped. They told neighbors they were going on a “camping trip”, but main man has forwarding order for McComb, Ohio. Ruby Graham went to the house with Kathi & found it empty, so Ruby will handle renting again.
Tried to have picnic down by pond but too many mosquitos so moved into garage that Howard had cleaned so nicely. About 30 here. A few stayed while I showed S.A. slides. Rain showers during evening. Mary & Rocky home about 7 from New England.

Throat very sore. Sorted things in potted plants. Everything looks gorgeous. Remove soil in front of rock wall to left of garage and planted seedums. Sowed marigold seed. Wonder if they’ll bloom before Frost.
Dave, Tanya and Dick out to put up Casita. Took about one and a half hours. But they had to figure out how. Served them Seven-Up on deck.

Howard & I in about 3 to pick mother up. Brought her out to Caledonia to see where they moved the bridge over the river by the Water Works. No floor in it yet. Then drove in Morrow County to back end of terradise. Brought her here for supper and took her home about 6:00.
Worked on genealogies. David doesn’t have information on Hemmerlys. Daddy’s, mine or his generations so I wrote to all 12 living cousin’s asking them to return info to me. David, Karen and Sarah will be up next Saturday night and bring ham.

To LaRue for wedding and stopped to visit Maggie before returning to shop. She was lying on sofa and didn’t have much pep,but had been to Lakeside with Joan. Not able to come to picnic. Boyd’s asked us to be at Enterprise Baptist Church at 4:30 so Mr. Stein and I were there but couldn’t get in. Groom insisted he had paid for everything even though another bouquet was ordered but I’ll never get the $9 I’m sure. He really put on a scene. Then to Caledonia with Kim Reinhardt’s wedding and spent 30 minutes rearranging candelabra. Bought $6 pot roast at Reece’s.
