Board of Historical Society met here, but since the meeting was changed from last night only had 7 members. Such confusion. RIchard Carey hasn’t even named his committee chairmen & nobody knows which trustees are no longer serving because Henrietta didn’t bring old Secretaries book. Isn’t even sure she has it.

Picked up Riegers & Clara Mae White & mother & headed for Cincinnati about 9. Clara Mae is an aid at East Lawn Manor & really took care of mother all day. Had lunch at a Cincinnati chili parlor & to David’s about 12:30. Karen busy doing a pork pate to enter in State Fair. Also bread. Carl gave “advice” on cleaning tools & David’s basement entry. Left about 2:30 & took in view of Ohio River from Eden Park & also the Conservatory. Stopped at Golden Lamb for dinner & there was the entrance to David’s basement! Home via Rt. 42 & a relief from freeway. Through Xenia – still empty areas from tornado 2 ½ years ago. Home about 9:00.

In to shop about 5 to see the US Open Drum & Bugle Corps Parade. Everyone gone from shop & at 6:00 discovered orders for 3 pieces for body shown at 3:30 & to be buried tomorrow. Walked to Seffner among the 6 deep crowd & found Dave & he came and made them & delivered them but we missed the Ohio Alumni band & the “Old Guard” from Washington DC. But rest of parade was great. Kids sat on top of Kathi’s car which she parked AM. Took slide pictures

Had 9 for breakfast, but David did the bacon & all enjoyed. Tommy & Beverly left for Murfreesboro about 11:00. The rest of us to Mary’s for lunch. Francis & Jessie Mai at the shop and then back to Fannie & Floy’s [Baker near Forest, OH] . I was exhausted & came home at 5 but at 6 Mary called & said our family was eating at Smorgasbord so I came back in. David & Karen decided to stay another night. Showed movies & played with Sarah. She’s trying so hard to talk. “Whatzat” & “Ispretty”.
