Saturday, August 27, 1976
Brought wedding to Caledonia & then home for lunch. Bernard, Rosina, Mary & Carl picked me up about 3:30 & we headed for Granville via Knox Co. Went past Hildreth homestead & then on back rds to Rt. 62 & to Buxton Inn in Granville. BBB has all upper teeth out so he had sweetbreads. Rained while eating. Home about 9:30 & showed some 4th July slides.

Thursday, August 26, 1976
Spent whole day in kitchen cooking & cleaning. Had beef stroganoff, Italian vegetables with hollandaise sauce. Applesauce salad & melon balls for dessert with Bill & Erma [Hutchman] & Kathi & kids as guests. Heard of their England & Scotland trip. Bill answered Davy’s questions on cremation, how long it takes for a body to go to bones & related items!
Took a walk around house but mosquitos nearly ate us alive. Gave Erma one of the orchids Hughes had given me.

Wednesday, August 25, 1976
Good thing I didn’t go to gift show. Rogers Wreath shipment filled receiving room & we had to move it to garage when shipment of dried materials from Aldick arrived. Had 2 salesmen. Balanced check book. Have $190 on hand & will need %4,000 more before August 31.
Kathi called from Upper Sandusky at 6:15 so I went to her house & got supper started. They had a great time with Bob although it was 106 while they were there. Went to Winipeg overnight. Bob had letter from hospital where Steve is saying he is saying nurse names. First he has talked.

Tuesday, August 24, 1976
Mother at shop to stuff statements. First time since Cheryl’s been there. I went to Westerville to Belli’s to pickl up yellow roses for spray. Found way through Lewis Center & Big Walnut road to 3C that’s only 40 miles.
3 sprays.
I said nothing to Connie about leaving early because of the pile of funeral work but she stated she was leaving at 3:30. Now I wonder who told her to leave then?
Billing all done & mailed.
Kathi called Cheryl to deposit her paycheck which I did. She’s leaving Bob’s this AM.

Monday, August 23, 1976
Told Debbie to leave at noon since she had 11 hours overtime last week. She worked until 3:30.
David called from Cincinnati and told me they will have another baby on March [March 10, 1977 – Joshua Haldeman] So glad for them.
Dick Straub & new Inarco salesman in.

Sunday, August 22, 1976
Slept till 11. Watched carp in pond. Counted about twenty from 10 to 20” long.
Howard and I took drive along railroad old 30 to see prairie wildflowers [Claridon Prairie]

Rieger’s in to say goodbye & pick up Marion City Directory. They are flying to Hanover, PA Sunday & will visit there & then go home. [to Florida]

Thursday, August 19, 1976
Donner had 3 kittens. One is all black- one like Hobart & 1 black & white long hair.
Lazed all day, but finally scrubbed rec room rug with Mr. Hooper’s scrubber. Got the grease spots out from last year’s picnics.
