Showed Kathi the letter that Bob sent me in March of ‘74 telling me why he couldn’t live with Kathi.
Asked Kathi to come to my office to tell me of her plans to marry Bob. She thinks he is a changed man and that he loves her children like a father. She plans to meet him in Oklahoma in October when he goes there for schooling and after 3 months move again to Fargo. I asked her if she had considered what effect it would have on the kids to be in 3 schools in one year? She assured me they wouldn’t mind. I was shattered by her selfishness & blindness & her attacks on me. Called Erma to see if they knew someone to ask her for a date as Kathi blames me or her lack of social contacts. They, Bill & Erma came to shop about 7 & helped me.

Thursday, September 16, 1976
Howard & I collected along old 30S & RR [Claridon Prairie] for my dried arranging class before the rain started. I knew they would be busy with Mrs. John Courtwright’s funeral so I went in about 2 & helped and everything was under control by 4. Dave had day off.
When I got home I had a letter from Kathi saying she intends to marry Bob again. Also suggesting that I hire a manager to run the shop as I’m not capable of handling the personnel problems as they arise.

Howard & I too delivery to Caledonia & Cardington. I had to go in to do wedding at Epworth & wanted to go to Art Market, but was too tired. Came home & slept on davenport until 6.

Saturday, September 11, 1976
Diarrhea all night. Kittens in kitchen when I went out so I knew Donner wasn’t back. Tried to get them to drink – no luck. Howard will go to Mt. Gilead for eye dropper. Serviced weddings at Home Missionary Holiness & First Presbyterian. Quite a contrast!
Don & Shorty visiting Kathi and the kids. Came to shop about 5 in time to see the “Computer” that Dave made out of flowers for John Bauldauf to send to National City Bank million dollar operations center. They went to air show & then Kathi had dinner for us. Mother, Mary & Rocky up too. They helped me load truck with funeral delivery for Caledonia & Cardington.

Friday, September 10, 1976
Howard got up when I got home to tell me Donner hadn’t been in to her kittens since 10 AM. Squirrel season came in today & he’s afraid someone shot her.
