Howard & I to gourd show at Mt. Gilead. Cool AM but sunny. Stopped at “Pumpkin Patch” too & tried to find Haldeman Cemetery south of Steam Corners but didn’t.
Paris & Helen stopped & we walked around. No killing frost yet, but acorns plentiful under oaks. Even the wood ducks come up to get them & the squirrels bury them everyplace.
Sandra Romine is back from University where she had chemotherapy, but will have to go in ambulance next time.

Mary Jordan called to ask if I could go to dinner with them so Connie said she’d take the LaRue wedding & visit Maggie.
Had wedding at First Church of Nazarene & funeral work started coming in about noon so it was a very busy day. But we all had a ball. When Barry shifted from one foot to another I told him where the bathroom was – & you would have thought I was a real wit!
Jordan & Brooks & I to Brown Derby Bucyrus. Had filet mignon. Back here for leisurely talk.

Sally Hayes out & we went along old 30 along RR tracks [Claridon Prairie] & cut mullein, evening primrose, rabbit clover, prairie dock for class.
In to shop about 2:30 & called Debbie & Martha in to my office. When I asked them if they had ever thought of opening a shop of their own Martha said “Why? Don’t you want us here?” So I had to tell them we didn’t. Debby cried & cried, but went immediately to Marion Flower Shop to apply for a job. Picked kids up & brought them home with me. Took them home when I went to Historical Society Meeting. Mary & Rocky there to hear the Jolley’s son covered bridge.
