I found at trashy “shack” washed against the bent oak in the river. I asked Dave if he knew about it. “Yes, Chris built it.” We had been hunting the plastic that protected the greenhouse last winter & Dave said he knew nothing about it. However if was worked into the conglomeration of boards of the shack. Dave asked me if I know where the snake was that he put in a cup in kitchen. I said “No- where did it come from?” “I found it in the shower.” “Why did you put it in the kitchen?” “Oh forget it.” and stamped away swearing. He came back later very angry & threw himself on his bed. When I suggested that the greenhous plastic had been used without my consetn he said the plastic belonged to Chris. When I asked where my plastic was that had been in the shack & was no longer there he exploded – stamped out of the room swearing about “can’t even be trusted in my own house.” He had come home from school very upset about the death of Susan White Sat evening in car accident & asked if I would take him to the viewing. I had said I wouldn’t and asked him to help me rake leaves. But he made no effort to.
