Sunday, October 17, 1976 Light freeze last night. First this fall.
Howard helped me wash & put in storm windows. Went for walk in woods, but temp was only 45 so even the sun didn’t warm us up. Trees gorgeous.
Had pot roast ready for Kathi & family about 6 & just as they arrived Paris, Helen, Margaret Ann & Daron arrived so we stretched it for 9.
Everyone accepting Bob as if he hadn’t been away.

Saturday, October 16, 1976
Five weddings & I set up & serviced 3 – Emmanuel Lutheran at 1:30- First Presbyterian at 4:30 & Green Camp at 7:30.
Helped with hospital & funeral work in between. Stopped at shop on way home & Bob there with Kathi & the kids- got in about 4 – left Fargo yesterday about 1:00.

Laura helping Connie on weddings all day so I did designing.

Wednesday, October 13, 1976
71 funeral pieces delivered today. Made about 100 of them yesterday. We all really worked & I did about 15. Had over 50 for the Victor Currens who died in their light plane crash Sunday.
Plenty tired for class tonight – all 21 there – did plaques. Laura & Connie working on weddings. Class did so well that I made 3 placques to put out for sale!

Tuesday, October 12, 1976
To Women’s Club Home for Altrusa business meeting. Took green ribbon to make bows for 75 mums for Marion Catholic.

Monday, October 11, 1976
Just got home – had supper & settled for reading paper when Elenor called saying the shop was filling up with people. I was supposed to be there to give a flower demonstration to Pan Hellenic Society. So I went in & got things ready while they had business meeting & it turned out ok!

Sunday, October 10, 1976
To Don & Agnes Shusters near Tippecanoe. Cold day & only partly sunny. Kathi & kids out at 8:30. On way stopped at Wm Hildreth Jr. house in Knox Co. for them to see it. Drive gorgeous along back roads. Mary & Rocky arrived in camper- spent night in Pa.- & David & Karen & Sarah from Cincinnati about noon. Don has finished bathroom & kitchen that he built on back of house. Loaded old barn siding in my car and then took a tractor trip up to his high meadow. Pretty much jolting for Karen. Also supper with Shusters. Home around 10:00

Saturday, October 9, 1976
Mrs. Jones here to clean & I “red” up until 10:30 so she could get down to the dirt.
Very busy at shop but well in hand. Martha had been in & brought garden flowers for the $100 I had paid her & she has a job at House of Design making up dried arrangements.
Straw wedding at Epworth. Had to wait 30 minutes to get in & Connie forgot to put candelabra arrangements on the work sheet. UI helped with funeral work – had over 30 pieces. Laura left at 2:30. Grocery shopped & had supper with Kathi. Got maps ready for trip.

Friday, October 8, 1976
Got my desk cleaned off. Don’t know why it seemed such a job. Everything around the shop seems so much easier to get done now.
Found an ad to rent a room in the Palace building for $100 a month. Wrote a note & will send it to Martha pointing out the opportunity. Serviced a wedding at Merkle Avenue Church. Cooked smoked pork chops & hash brown potatoes for supper. Read book on how to make people do what you want them to. Good points in it.
