Picked up blue “Roundabouts” that were ordered at Wilson’s $25. Sis, Wanda and Janice only extra help. All working tonight but I felt exhausted. Had dinner at Isaly’s and then home at 8 and watched TV.
Mother called saying the tape recorder I gave her has disappeared. Lori Bennett has been helping her again, the girl who stole money from her last summer.

Wanda Stroud in to man phone for out orders. Gave her, Janice, and Faye instructions on flow of orders. Kass says Wanda catches on quickly. Picked up airline ticket to San Francisco $286 and bought $450 in traveler’s checks. Got cholera shot at Doctor Lenzo’s office and asked him about his office. It was built by Eber Baker for his daughter Mehitibel who married Richard Sargent. He’s sorry he didn’t know its history before he destroyed the interior. Referred me to Virginia Harris Harold, daughter of Margaret Brewer who was Herbert Brewer’s sister.
Called Marjorie Patterson to tell her mother gave permission to publish her hurricane 1926 story.

David shoveled path through upper driveway.
David and I “walked” in the woods. Snow up to our knees. Scraped snow off river and there was water on top of ice. David shoveled out upper Drive. Showed “Marion 1976” and I took notes on where we need more script. In to shop about 2 & they left for Cincinnati.
To library and AAA and made online reservations to San Francisco. “Plants Alive” Valentine plants in and all too green. Brought them home. Bought a fireplace heat converter. Howard still up and very upset about putting it together.
Finished “The HAB Theory” by Allan Eckert- supposes that the Earth capsizes every 4,000 years or so and replaces continents with regard to poles.

Sunday February 1977
Out to shovel lower driveway so I could drive my car in far enough for David to get in. Eugene Showers came along and helped me. Took us about a half hour. David and Karen and Sarah up from Cincinnati about noon. David to rehearsal and Karen and Susannah to Mary’s. I went in there about 3 even though I had started a pork roast. Had pizza for supper. Then to the Mark Milner concert at Cadet Hall. Really great and to a full house. Mark all the way composing, directing, poetry. But David’s solos were great. I hadn’t heard him play for a long time. Sarah kept time with her whole body but finally went to sleep during the loudest number.

Breakfast with Mary and Rocky & into work about 9:30. Nell in but Clay came after her about 3 saying wind was closing roads again. Barry to Prospect and said Route 4 was all ice. Had him take flowers up to Masonic Temple for talk tonight. About 25 women and was well received. Sold all eight arrangements I made in an hour.
When I got home the five inches of new snow had blocked my lower drive and I got stuck with the car still partly in the road. Had to dig out the driveway enough to get in.
Had letter from Marjorie Patterson about publishing mother’s 1926 hurricane story.
