Judy, Patty, Mary and I left for Lakewood at for Laura and Diane left at 1:30. Found Gold Coast Motel on Edgewater very gentile[sic genteel?] -not even the name out front. Nice rooms $28 each for three rooms. To Bill Hixson’s Design Basics session at 8:00. Very good- “High point, low point, bridge, bridge. No more Edwardian bouquets.

Friday October 3rd
Brenda Riesch in from Manter Culp Holbrook and I was absolutely right. Not only on the $10,400 error Accounts receivable, but also in questioning the out order accounts receivable. They had them cumulative over a period of years so it reduced our profit by $1,900 more. So we had a loss of $26 for the year. So we will get back more than $3,000 in income tax! Whoopee!
To return cane (too large) to Home Federal Savings and Loan to put money market certificate in savings account- interest rate going up every week so will hold till November 1st and see rate is (now 11.9%.) To Big Red for permit stickers for mailing program books. To mothers with my itinerary- money from dues and Country Store to Irma Campbell. Mailing bags to John Cotrell. Fertilizer to Merchant Avenue. To post office- to Mays to buy new Timex digital watch ($158) (Bulova Mary gave me two years ago got wet.) Wrote to Kathi, David & Uncle Allen sending itineraries. Helped put bows on 100 mums for St Mary’s tomorrow. Home at 7:30 heated chili for supper. Watched Streisand and Redford in “The Way We Were” and fell in bed exhausted at 11:30.

Thursday October 2nd
Helped Howard prune around Shack in a long river bank.

Wednesday October 1st 1980
Picked up book of upholstering samples from across street for sofa and loveseat that sure has rotted out.
Bernhard and Betty at Turoff’s for dinner with us. So good to see BBB.
Mary J and I went shopping at Ohlmans and both got outfits- hers rust- mine plum. I got two blouses.

Tuesday March 29th 1977

David, Karen, Sarah and JJ in to shop about 4. Out here for quick supper. Mary, Rocky and mother out to see JJ for the first. Into OSUM at 7 for Marion County Historical Society meeting with David showing “Marion 1976” movie over 1 hour long. About 150 there, well received. Sarah cried- too tired so I walked her and she slept through end of film, applause, serving lunch and being carried to car. They went back to Cincinnati leaving about ten-thirty.

Couldn’t wait any longer to see Joshua Joseph so left for Cincinnati about 8:30 taking Rocky with me. Mary involved in church Laymen’s weekend & didn’t go.
J.J. looks like my Daddy. Slept most of day. Sarah trying so hard to talk – repeats everything. David setting out pansies. His daffs blooming. Watched JJ’s first bath. Back home by 9:00.
