Wednesday May 31st 1978
Cecil Rutherford in coma following operation.
Sands family and I to Columbus about 10. Ate at The Forum for lunch and then to McAlister’s. Bought shoe for Nikkormat FTN which will be sent to me.
To Ohio Historical Museum. First time I had had much time there. Ohio Village not open.
Kathi got things out of attic and Kris washed dollhouse furniture and played with it.

Trella Hemmerly – 1978-05-30

Tuesday May 30th 1978
Kathi, kids and I into shop and then Kathi to Mary’s to sort out things stored there to ship.
Cheryl Knapp’s father Cecil Rutherford, operated on p.m. to clear vein in neck that could cause a stroke. He has had one.
Took Mary with all of us to Rhoad’s for dinner.
Played Boggle with Bob and kids.

Trella Hemmerly – 1978-05-29

Monday May 29th 1978 Memorial Day
David and family here in time for lunch they brought sliced ham. Had a shareholders meeting and gave K&D a check each for $100 (50 shares each at $2 per share) and Trella a check for $800. Named TR president, D&K vice presidents, Kass secretary and Cheryl treasurer.
Mary Jordan sick with bronchitis but Carl, BBB and Kenneth Hecker, Paris, Helen, Margaret Ann and family, Mary and mother. Some ate on deck. David left about 8:30. Kathi showed Mississippi films including Blue Angels.

Thursday May 25th 1978
Set out tuberous begonias and impatiens on north side of front porch. Weeded, made up more combination pots. Reggie Teetor out to get myrtle to use as ground cover. Had call about saving Civil War statue at Cemetery that blew over and burst, what to do with pigeons banded, when is committee going to meet on new Marion County History and for Police Journal, where is Helen Luvisi’s order for 9 geraniums. Wrote the cousins about July 16th reunion.

Trella Hemmerly – 1978-05-24

Wednesday May 24th 1978 Christy called collect for practice. They are not going to Don’s.
Flood coming up through woods and Howard called at noon saying it was up to third step.
Made-up combination pots and worked with Mary on getting up orders. Nice to have someone else planting them.
Decided to buy the Apco copier $1,700. Have almost $5,000 in checking account and all bills paid for the month. Payroll Monday will take $4,500 want to pay $1,000 dividends and should have five thousand more coming in this month!
