Sunday July 16th 1970 – Hemmerly Reunion
Wilda and Jackye Arrived as I was still putting away and cleaning. Don and Agnes, Merlin and Hilda, Kenny & Ann, Mary and later Jill made 7 cousins here. Judy and two of her kids home from Taiwan here and Bakers. Spread tables under oak tree. A perfect day. Had supper in new kitchen. Good visiting with Wilda and Jackye.

Saturday July 15th 1978
Neva Jones here to clean at 8 – hope she can find bottom. In to shop for 9 a.m. wedding appointment John Baldauf son, age 17, Robert Haas and a Massie made 75 funeral pieces and two sprays. Nancy designed and the girls were wonderful. I did 4 Weddings and Tanya did one. Finished Barb Teetors at 7:30. David and Karen at Terradise just ready to leave for Four Freshmen – 4 Lads – Ink Spots concert. Mary here putting kitchen back together with a screwdriver. Kitchen all papered but no chair rail. Sarah and Josh went to shop sleep no problem. Worked putting away until midnight.

Friday July 14th 1978
Floor covering men not here until 10 and at 4:30 I had a note at the shop that they hadn’t finished base and may be back tomorrow – to lay vinyl! Called Rick’s and girl said they had been in to collect their money! I said it had to be done by 10 tomorrow. When I got home at 7 Charlie Long here painting ceiling and at 8:30 floor man and his son James came boiling in. He had a party tonight at home. But he did a good job and finished at 1:45 AM. Took letters to Big Red for 50,000 copies. Allan Pratt in to accept publicity job for history. John Baldauf’s son killed in car accident.

Thursday July 13th 1970
In about 10 to take envelope order to Hall-Beck. To Penney’s to get towels, but what I like not on sale. Stopped at shop with Ivy and hosta blossoms. Worked on the Indiana glass pricing. Paul Dasher at shop putting in drain in front of garage door to keep from flooding.
Back home and sorted and put away – but house all torn up with kitchen stuff so hard to do anything.

Wednesday July 12th 1978
Roy Price – Rocky’s brother-in-law died in California.
Retyped letter for history and got disgusted with skips so went to Wiant’s to try out a Smith-Corona, the kind with cartridge ribbon. Brought one back to shop and typed the other page. Called Iris Knapp at Larue to take Montgomery Township and she’s a real find. Supper at Turoff’s with gang. Kenny has a new macro zoom 75 to 230 ml lens $225. Sure would like to use it! Took letter and order blank to Isabelle stump to proofread. [Charlie] Long working when I got home. Has counter and sink and new cupboard in. Floor a mess.
