David & Jed at shop – put up barn siding in original wedding area.

To Burrough’s Club – picked up Edith Keeler & Alice Caulfield. Meeting at Dorcas Schaffer’s on Richland Rd. David & Jed out to Terradise for supper & brough them with me for supper of chicken & noodles. All of us (including Dave – David & Jed) to Palace to see “The Glory of the Alps” – Thayer Soule. Gorgeous shots.
Took girls home – worn out taking care of them.

Shirley Carozza called – Has a couple living in Fairpark interested in renting Mother’s house.

Bob Stout called saying Baretta – Don’s lawyer said don would be in her office Tues. to sign custody papers.

Sunday, November 14, 1982
Winegartners up about 3 to pick up Bill – very difficult to maintain a conversation. Served them Waldorf Salad – Kathi’s pfefferneuse & coffee & then to show them shop.

To see Motheer & then on down to Pat & Bob Johnston’s for surpise reception for Mary & Carl’s 35th wedding anniversary. About 40 there mopstly family. Mary says with her 2 kids & Carl’s 3 – in-laws – etc they have 50 in their immediate desendants. Dave didn’t want to spend an evening with “all those old people” – until he met Krista – Nancy’s daughter.

Dave is absolutely irresponsible when he gets with kids his age.

I worked sorting papers most of day.

Dull – cold day. High 32.

Friday, November 12, 1982
Dave & I in to see Mother at 10:30. Met Mary there & took mother to clothing show. Bought her a wrapper & knee warmers. Then Dave & Ihool on to Marysville – got David Hildreth Death Certificate (1908) at court house (says he was born in Morgan Co.) & then on to Fairborn – Raining & blowing all the way – ate at Duff’s cafeteria& stopped at craft store where I bought Dave a three stage rocket $7. On to base going past James Drive where he lived & Central Jr. High School where he went to school. Had to wait an hour on Sgt. McNeely to talk to us about renewing Dave’s ID cards. Don has to sign & I will send birth certificate, picture & letter from Bob Stout saying Don will not sign custody papers. To Winegartners to pick up Bill. Coffee with his mother while Bill showered. Started home at 3:45 & at shop at 5:30. Ordered pizza & brought it home to eat. Dave his usual silly ID that he assumes around other kids.

Wednesday, November 10, 1982
To Center to host 20 Cub Scouts. Toldl them they were travelling in Time Machine into the past.

Picked up Clara Gillan to help me host the group.

At 4:00 to Marion Tech to meet with John Keegan & Dick Bryson. Gave them my outline for who shoild contribute what in ordere to get things moving & ended in volunteering to contact the “#2’s” – mostly Society members.. Think I can raise $10,000 from them.

David, Karen & kids at shop when I called & we met at Isaly’s with Mary & Kenny for dinner. Dave rode his bike in. Dave brought computer in.

Thursday, November 11, 1982
David & Dave up watching “Columbia” space shuttle lift-off at 7:17 – Sarah, Josh & Jed up too so after 5 hrs sleep on sofa up & at ‘em David & I had conference on FTD change of ownership & Sept. Financial Statement. Dave to Hemmerly’s at 8;30. Spent morning cooking “Eber Baker” Beans, marinated carrots, cornmeal muffins & apple pie. Karen helped me with crust in food processor. David home at 2:00 for lunch. In to River Valley School to pick up Dave at 2:50 – took him to Dr. Vornholt for teeth check. I met David & family at MCHS Center – Karen had never see it. They stopped to see Mother on their way home. I went to River Valley for conferences with Tom Lyon (Algebra), Mrs. Fowler (Indus. Tech), Mrs. Malley (Eng.) – they all said Dave doing well & is opening up & seeming more at ease. So glad! To shop to do some copying. Down to see Mother. To Mary’s to pick up Dave – they got him at dentist. He has 6 cavaties! To “Frankies” for hamburgers – grocery shopping at Big Bear. Dave’s – $17 – mine $32.00. Watched “Private Benjamin” on T.V. Bed 11:30.

Tuesday, November 9, 1982
Howard burned shack lumber piled across the road – Some people had hauled some away for kindling.
Dinner at Isaly’s with Jordans and Heckers.

Monday, November 8, 1982
Royce to clean & worked with her until 1:00 & then went down in woods with John Deere mower & mulched leaves. Dave came down into woods after school & I let him ride it – as expected he wandered all over the woods with it.

Check for $100 & letter from Marcella Fetter James. Nice letter commending genealogy.

Sunday, November 7, 1982
Dave & I picked up Carl Lehner at 2:00 & drive to Centerville Rd. to see log cabin on Ruth farm in Green Camp Twp. It had sunk two logs into ground & south side crumbling. But told Carl I would pay to have the good logs hauled to Terradise. Left him off at Hills & then I visited Mother.
