Sunday, November 21, 1982
Baked corn pudding for Thanksgiving dinner tonight at Mary’s. Dave & I to shop at 11:45 – Everybody ready – David & family up from Cinci. Dressed in Holiday splendor. – Jed wearing suit Karen made for Josh at State Fair last year.

David, Judy & I greeted guests at door – I introduced the others. About 800 from corsage pins used. Cloth Holly with bow. Shop looked gorgeous & we had so many compliments – sales $50 over last year $1,200.

Mary & Ken went to Columbus to Covered Bridge meeting & stopped at shop about 4:00. Then went on home to get dinner on table. Had the turkey over dressing, sweet potatoes & cranberry salad.

David brough both computers up – working on program linking them. They left for Cinci about 8 & we came home.

temp 56 – rainy
Catching up all day – washed – put blankets back in Hildreth Chest 7 put Dave’s sports equipment in the attic. Balanced check books – Omlet & Bacon for lunch – Dave lazing around with a cold – He called Kathi after 11:00.

We watched OSU-Michigan game – OSU 24 Mich 4. Dave quite an OSU Fan – But resisted doing anything to help me with the work.

In to see Mother about 5;00 In a good mood. Wheeled her down hall. She asked about the friends she had made at Marion Manor especially Mrs. Brown and didn’t seem to know that she had been moved.

Planted paper white narcissus in water & stones with pieces of charcoal & put them in closet – like I did as a kid.

Stopped at shop about 6:00.All busy with last minute touches. Looks great for Open House tomorrow – 17th!

Macy Morris Thaxton returned her Hildreth Genealogy with no explanation. First cousin to return it. Others all bought.

Friday, November 19, 1982
Ray Foertsh & Sons cut willow tree out of pond & burned rest of shack. $293 total bill.

In to Center at 1:00 to meet representative of Whirlpool Foundation. Dorothy Harper came over too. They were late so couldn’t go to Ralph white’s funeral. But glad to know we are being considered for some money.

Dorothy & I went on over to Howison & Howard to select fabric for Lutton furniture. Barbara Boggs is giving over $2000 for the jobu of redoing the 7 pieces. She had 3 choices & we chose the olive green.

To Harvest Home Festival at Women’s Club Home, No one there except the workers. Took plants for Burrough’s Club & gave Quest Club check for $5. Bought passion plant, date bread, pumpkin pie & sugar cookies.

At shop Cheryl told me she is postponing marriage to Larry Hindman. Felt pressured to marry as she is not getting and money from Dave since he’s out of work.

Mary completed rental of Mother’s house & met people.

Thursday, November 18, 1982
Ray Foertsh out to install “Lifetime” storm door on door to T.V. room. Had to hang a blanket up last winter to keep cold out- door cost $179 + tax.

Picked Dave up after his detention and down to see Mother.

Supper at Ross’s Restaurant but Dave didn’t like their shrimp. His insistence that everything he eats has to be just exactly what he expects it to be is a little wearing. If I were equally insistent that he conduct himself exactly as I think he should our lives would be miserable.

Took FTD forms in & Cheryl didn’t want her name listed as Cheryl Knapp Hindman – said was not yet that so shouldn’t be used.

Tuesday, November 16, 1982
Lazy day – Dave used up all the milk for hot chocolate so had toast 7 orange juice for breakfast.

Went through Hildreth Genealogy making list of “cousins” to send infor about book. Got letter ready for Wright Pat with Dave’s birth certificate, picture & letter from Bob Stout. Found corrected pages from Hubbard that I looked for for a week. Picked Dave up after his denention at school for marring desk yesterday. To shop where he copied Ben Kern’s auto drawings & i copied pages for book. Visited Mother & fed her supper. Didn’t eat much. Girl there visiting her & mother had asked her to disconnect her T.V. Mother told me she was not crazy. Said Loren & Jessie had been to visit her and brought her cookies.

Made pizza for supper. Watched “The Blue and Gray” – Civil War story. Pro football strike over Thank goodness Bengals play at Philadelphia so David doesn’t have to play with the band next Sunday.
