More progress on the boxes of stuff in my room. Took Dave in to look at Class Rings. Will be about $125. He has saved his Hemmerly money & birthday & Christmas money so has enough. To see mother & then took Dave to Mary’s while I went to Gloria Marshall & Genealogy meeting. Announced the publication of Allen D. Sheneman’s “Machling Genealogy” & found that Bob Lindsay is also descended from Theobold Mechling.

Royce to clean while I tried to get publicity out for open house at Center Sunday. Couldn’t get drawers back in filing cabinets/ In at 3:00 – David had lunch with Judy & she really balked at cut from $18,000 to $14,000 a year. Wasn’t so upset at taking Gen’l manager title from her – She has done little “managing” of shop. So Kass offered to take $13,000 & give Judy $15,000. David told her he wished he made $15,000 a year. To Gloria Marshall for an hr – back up to 164. To see mother. Jean Freshour had been to see her & she was thrilled. Kass called & talked out some problems she forsees.

Back up to attic – sorting etc. Howard took down the denuded tree & packed it for next year – I still don’t like plastic Christmas Trees!

Moved filing cabinets up from basement. When David came in about 9 from CIncinnati he removed drawers from tiers of bookcases in my bedroom so they will fit in old butterfly case area W of desk. He had letters prepared for Judy & Kass with salary for each at $15,000. I suggested we could only afford $14,000. David had me run his newest payroll program – computes hours worked – to see if there are any bugs.

Brought in the New Year with Mary & Ken, Mary & Carl, Bill & Erma & Helen Romine* joining Dave & me at Terradise. Dave played Auld Lang Syne for us on his Casio electronic keyboard. Slept until 11 – watched Rose Parade – color gorgeous on this RCA set – in to LK to have dinner with Jordans & Heckers. My plate of sauerkraut & spare ribs too cold to enjoy. To Hills & bought automatic drip coffee maker & a strong box for Dave. Visited mother. Copied Dave’s banking records & sent to Don for release signatures. Started taking down C’mas & worked on attic making room.
