Relaxing day – finally! Slept until 10:30 – rain showers off and on. Dave & Lee wanted to drain pool & clean it – & did it! Hope the 12″ goldfish – 3 yr old from 2″ survives.

Call from Geo. Parkhurst of Chelmsford, Mass. asking me to speak on Hildreth Family Reunion in Ankeny, Iowa on August 7!! And we can’t even connect William with their Richard & Thomas Hildreth. Called Uncle Alllen but he didn’t know about my being asked.

Mary, Ken & I headed for Akron at 10:30 to visit Doris & Stu Gibson. I hadn’t been there for years. Doris gets around with 2 hand canes – multiple sclorosis – took them to Quaker Square for lunch – then to Chestnut Hill Cemetery where Aunt Sylvia & Uncle Perry are buried. Area beautiful with dogwood and crabapples blooming. Downtown Akron & Goodyear areas almost unrecognizable from 45 years ago when we visited so often. Home at 7:30. Mary called after checking Mother. She’s back to normal.

Letter to all members on endowment fund, etc. To see mother and she was irrational – thought Allen had visited her. To Dr. Wolfe for eye exam. After 5 yrs he could see no changes. To Women’s Club Home for lunch with House & Garden Club & gave program on “Terradise & How it Grew” – back to see mother – stopped at shop to pick up lobelias. Took MC History Book money to John Cottrell. Home and set out impatiens & allyssum.
