In to shop at 9:30 & then to Mays to pick up jewelry. Mother’s platinum setting with 1/5 carat diamond bought with Ins. policy she carried on me. 14K gold pendant & chain with diamond from engagement righ from Ray & the Peredot ring from S. A. that I had sized. Very please with all of them.

Wanda Straub & I handled the telephone & out orders & kept us hopping all afternoon.

Picked up hamburgers for Dave on way home at 6:30 and I had forgotten he had Industrial Tech at 5:00 – so he missed it. Order for Hildreth Genealogy from Mary Bishop – Guy VanAtta’s daughter.

Dave’s 16th birthday

Wrapped packages – & cleaned house. Mary & Ken out at 5 with 2 large pizzas for Dave’s birthday dinner. I baked a cake & he blew out candles. At 7 took Dave, Joe & Jerry Wade (Dickinsons) & Chris Opp & Bo (his girlfried) to Southland Mall for Burt Reynolds movie “The Man Who Loved Women”. I shopped & at Penney’s Camera Dept Cheryl Knapp was getting advice on a new camera. Boys out here to finish pizza & try Dave’s weights. He thanked me for his birthday celebration.

Dave slept until 2 & then brought in the Christmas tree from the deck. I cooked fried chicken & potatoes & salad for lunch but he wouldn’t eat it. Mary & Ken came out in new white van just as we were ready to go to Marion so they took us in to get his weights & bench – on sale at Penney’s for $88.18 including tax & he had $90 in birthday & Christmas money.

Kathi called to wish Happy Birthday & Dave bawled me out because I talked to her. He put the weight bench together while I decorated the tree.

Dave wouldn’t get up until Marge Longacre got here to pick him up so she had to wait 10 minutes. I went in at 10 & took Bob Johnston to MCHS Center to get estimate on paneling back room – Shelves & floor. At shop by 10:45 as Terry was leaving to got to work at Penney’s – 2 delivery routes going but barely kept them busy. I routed & cleaned desk area – filthy. Busy out front & Kass says up $6,000 over last year. Beat when we got home & Chris not home to go to movies as Dave had planned so I bathed & went to bed at 8:00.
