Signed papers at Home Federal to buy 633 Bordeaux house $26,210. $5,201 down & $21,000 loan at 7%. Hope to pay it off in 2 years.

Sunday, March 9, 1969
Packed lunch & drove to Wickenburg & then to Vulture Gold Mine. New owner was our guide & very interesting. Don sketched old schoolhouse & Mary & I prospected – Gold dust in river sand. Supper in Wickenburg & home after dark. Had drive up on the Mt. on the way to Prescott & it was cold there!

To Scottsdale – shopped at Goldwaters. Then to see movie “Oliver” – good, but enjoyed the stage play more. Only had about an hour in the Fifth Ave Shop. They are delightful.

Friday, March 7, 1969
Mary & I took off for Phoenix. Visited Squaw Mt. Park before going to Rock & Mineral Show at Fairgrounds. It was fabulous. Intaglio impressive & bolo ties were featured. I bought stuff I’ll probably never get made up. To see “Camelot” at base theatre.

Thursday, March 6, 1969
Mother flew to Santa Ana. Mary & I babysat Davy but he laod his head against his bed about 7 & Mary put him in & he went right to sleep.
