Rita & Joyce from down the street brought me 2 sphinx larva found on spired. May or may not be exacaltus. Just as I was ready to leave for Columbus. Picked up Mary & Ray. Ray had letter from Columbus Iris Society asking us to join. First meeting is Monday September 27. Guess we’ll go.

Ray & I went to Long’s while Mary checked schedule – got books, etc. I bought 3 books. 2 general Nature study & Voyage of Beagle by Darwin. Then over & visited Ed Thomas. He identified my Canadian bog plants as marsh St. Johns Wort & bladderwort.

Then drove down to Lazarus where everything was too high to suit Mary but I bought venetian blinds for living room. Had supper in Worthington. Ray came on home & then went for Wally who was bowling.

Down to hotel at 9 for receiving of entries. Not too many came in. Arrangement judge couldn’t come at last minute so Homer Messenger judged. I went back about 2 & finished our wedding display in about an hour.

Betty Steinman of WMRN lined us up for broadcast at 8:15 & since Kathy got 3rd on her glamellia arrangement asked her to be on.

We (Romines & I) went up to show about 7 to put Reuben’s gift tags on things. Marie had had a tumor removed in morning & Rueben came up to show but was so tired. Mary J. also went to hospital with blood clots in both legs.

Broadcast went very well & Karl Stewart took pictures. Had him take one of our wedding display. Ray was grand help all evening.
