Mr. & Mrs. Holloway up to discuss Jr. Dept. Guess Mrs. H will take it temporarily & get some teachers.

Delores came home from school when Wally left work & I was ready to go to Columbus. Picked up Ray & Florence. Mary had dirven Daddy’s car down & we stopped for her. She has a swell first floor room with built in drawers.

Had supper at hamburg joint & then we took in Remval Sale at our Second Hand Book store on N. High. Things half price. Got some fair stuff. Then Ray & I went to Iris Society Meeting while Wally & Flo & Mary went to show. Meeting in Upper Arlington at Stephans. Harry O’Brien showed iris slides & talked. Robert McCormick very interesting. But Ray thought it too high brow. Home about 12:15.

Kurz-Sinning wedding went very well – Ray came about 8:15 & we worked right through until 1. Kathy went to Sunday School for Promotion Day & then Wally took the kids out to Flo’s for dinner. They went to Mansfield park for the afternoon. At the church finished up just as the people came – had dinner at Restaurant on Main St. & then over to church just as wedding was out. Moved baskets down on S. Main for reception. Home & cleaned up a little. Then over to Williamsport to collect Chruassenium americanus. In swamp for Lirbarium. New Co I discovered in April but specimens wern’t good enough to send to Herbarium. Ray nearly got sucked in again! Got home about 7 & we had ham & eggs then the rest of them came home. Detailed each other’s day. Romines left about 9:30. I looked at catalogs & so to bed.

Worked on plants all morning – getting more in etc. Bernie came down & said he too was leaving – going to Richmond, Indiana I think. His dad gave him the Chrysler convertible – as a sap – he admitted. To mother’s after dinner – made 3 pieces & later made another using mum & poms from Columbus now. Mums at $5 doz – poms $1.25 – $1.50.

Wally connected up the gas logs in living room – with much difficulty but it feels better.

Sorted out flower arrangement articles for Girl Scouts that are coming tomorrow morning. Ray called – Wally went to hospital to see Mary J – much improved – walked today & may go home over weekend. Went upstairs & it’s a mess. Left so much stuff.

I have a cold – Too much cold house.

Marilyn Bliman came by but only to pack & leave. IO talked to her but even tho she admits she has no reason for leaving Bernie – she did.

Nora Baker came about 9:30 to can tomatoes & do up bedroom curtains for me. She got Kathy up lunch & I worked right through at mothers. Made 20 pieces $105. Paid Nora $4 & I got $14 so hair profit. FInished at 6 – Wally kids & I ate at hot dog stand.

Romines had to wait 15 minutes on me to go to Galion to see Hazel Chase. Johnny Gill started to college last week – Walt & Flo drove us over but didn’t come in. The usual jabberish. Ray had a surprise in an article about Baker that Baker had sent him., Baker writes a weekly nature column for the Wyanesburg paper!

Home about 10:15. Covered plants again. Temp about 40 at bedtime.

Huntera larva pupated.

Made 2 funeral pieces at mother’s this A.M. Washed after dinner & nearly froze hanging them out. Ruth called saying Lewis was in bed again so I picked Zinnias & took them up to him instead of going to Girl Scout Council meeting. Took ironing to Fogles & stopped at folks. Later ordered 200 tulip bulbs for daddy – 100 crocus & 50 hyacinth for me. Also colonial bouquet holders & pins. Temp 39 at 11:30 P.M. Brought in some plants & covered others.

Venetian Blinds for living room came from Lazarus & Wally put them up. Look very nice. $22 for 5 of them.

Betty Carmean wedding – up at 7 but got started on wedding a little late. Ray here at 8:30 to help but let him help Daddy to cut glads. Flo & Wally got dinner but I didn’t have time to enjoy it. Dashed for church at 1 – Mary hadn’t done anything & mother was sick so had to make up the baskets. Guests started coming before we were through. I was exhausted – Ray worked right with me perfectly.

After relaxing a little – Wally & Flo took kids for a ride & Ray & I went to hospitcal to see Mary J. – Ray got cleaned up then & we took a ride & collected astys. Found asteria larva. Were having hot dogs at Footlong & talking about 1926 Hurricane when a terrific storm blew up. We left without paying it was so bad. Started raining just as we got home & electirc wire blew down out in front. We stood guard for fear others would drive up & touch it. Electric Co. disconnected it just before they got home. Romines left shortly – Mother & daddy over – all this by candles. Went to bed at 9 exhausted.
