Another beautiful day. Temp in high 70’s. Daddy with Roger Scott – Uncle John & Bob Butler in finishing digging bulbs & the first of the chrysanthemums are beginning to bloom.
Sorta frittered the day away. Cleaned out cedar chests – got things ready to send to Moother. Drew up a plan for the cupboards I’d like to have over the sink & stove.
Gave Kathy $1.30 this AM for bank day but her book showed only $1.10 deposited. She had lost 20 cents! showing it to Bonny.
Made covers for pillows for studio couch upstairs.
Wally played poker at Harley Johnson’s & I read –
Women here about corsages for Kings Daughters State convention next Tuesday.

Paris finished the papering upstairs – with my help. He charged 70 cents per hor which amounted to $12.00. Took a breather at 11:30 & dashed down & did the washing – got lunch on table – ate – hung up clothes – back up to paste.
When Kathy got home from school went uptown shopping. Then up for pop & out to Seiters for cider. Took missionary gifts to Mildred Gorby.
Wally worked on accounts. We own $910 on the house & $930 on the car. Cashed bonds to clean up all other things & are now buying one bond a month as our savings. Wally’s salary is $310 per month with $28 per month out for income tax. The rent on the apt is $11.50 per week & I get $10 of this for food plus $30 from Wally. Total of $70 & I usually spend some of my personal allowance of $15 per month on it.

Finished piece for the church & one for Greenwood Inn. Took Kathy & David & went to Sunday School. David calling it “School”. Went into the nursery & stayed with no trouble at all. Mrs. Holloway is taking the Jr. Dept. & everything else seems OK in Children’s Dept.
Romines weren’t ready when we got there on time – sonder if they ever would be or this promptness is just a pose. Harold Whites had been there. So to Columbus for mum show – and it had been postponed because of late blooming. Only a few of the planted ones out!
Then went to Conservatory at Franklin Park. It was hot every place. Ray had a cold & had had thorns in hand & knees from cutting down trees. So after hamburgers in Columbus came on home & left them out. Picked Kathy up over home. She went with them.

Pasted for Paris most of the morning. So many things to do in P.M. didn’t get any of them done. Wally cleaned up some of the debris from yard where I had worked.
Ray & Flo up in evening. Ray has a cold. I tried to make up piece for church & Greenwood Inn from 7 tritoma – asparagus foliage & my imagination. Had fruit sald with marshmallow cream & tipperaries – cheese & crackers. They left before 11.
Wrote Keven O’Mahony & to Hazel Chase. Told her about our trip last Sunday [to Cedar Swamp] & the fringed gentians.
Ray had his feelings hurt by mother’s remarks about the flowers he brought her & so isn’t interested in growing mums for us next year. Daddy wasn’t too enthusiastic – when I broached it to him.

Helped Paris paste wallpaper in between finishing plans to close Camp Youn. Ended up using Daddy’s truck. Wally got afternoon off & really helped. Had 4 boys to take them down. Mrs. Ryce had fun with the mice in the wooden cabinet.
Wally skipped bowling & went down to help Bernard number checks.
