Snowing & I felt lousy so didn’t go to work. Dozed on sofa until 1 – watching 14 kinds of birds at the feeders.

Mr. Kumpf called again about renting Bordeaux – called Caryl Jacobs – Having loan co. give mortgage on furniture tomorrow. Owes me $750 as of Jan. 1.

Worked on Budget for Hemmerly’s. Our “door opening” daily figure is $666. Expenses only – no merchandise.

Snowed all day for total of 8″. I tried to go to Straub’s for dinner but couldn’t get past my drive where snowplows threw up snow. Reset date for Friday night.
T.V. Announcement that Iran accepts “in principle” USA plan for Hostages release.

Doug Burchett delivering – Terry on “Furlough.”

Ask all day for help on inventory. Finally at 5:00 Judy said she would. She was supposed to leave at 5:00. Took us until 6 to do the baskets.

To dinner at Turroff’s with Hecker’s & Jordan. Mary told Orlie about furnace & he wanted to know how big the “hole” was!

Laura in to do Gerry Milar’s wedding but didn’t have it finished in time. I inventoried until I left for church at 5:00.
Utter chaos. Why do people like that try to put on a show? Here sister attendant wore a grey satin spaghetti strap gown cut to the crotch in front drape! Does Gary Warner know what he’s doing?

I barely got to reception in time to get it set up. Laura, Cheryl & Terry Knapp there but I left before cake cutting when they started rock music on phonograph. Had sandwich at Arby’s & shopped for wind up clock & hamburg for Howard.

Worked on specimens during the morning & then got house ready for annual party. Ray & Flo, Mary H – Bernard Brooks & Rosina here. Bernard chagrined that their baby wasn’t born in 1947 to count on income tax or among first babies of 1948. Usual melee of games. unusual amount of prophecies were almost correct. Had our first champaign – a gift to Wally. Lunch of Waldorf Salad, crackers, cheese – potatoe chips. Inveigled Ray & Flo & Mary into helping with dishes.
